Hope someone can help.....(this could be also "introduction" thread) I purchased a '98 Valk and saved it from going to a golf cart custom installation. If you ask me, this thing of beauty had to go back to normal and i have to give it a shot in restoring it. Got it as a (quite a few) basket case and i'm at the point where i need to start connecting hoses to a carbs, airbox and fuel. I got service manual (digital version) but it's not 100% clear where few hoses from those intake manifolds are going and another one (i think it's a vent hose) from a gas tank...It's a 98 GL1500 CT Looking forward to start her up soon, it's cleaned inside, valves adjusted, ready to rock....any info/tips/help appreciated...THANKS

Hoolie, go to your profile and add where you're located; city, state, etc. There's usually someone nearby that can lend a hand from their own experience. As for where all the hoses go, since I've desmogged my ride I frankly don't remember where they all go. Hopefully someone else with chime in, it's not real involved but I found the hard copy of the manual easier to use.

Welcome, if it hasn't been done yet look at doing a desmog, eliminates a lot of hoses and a lot of potential vacuum leak problems. https://sites.google.com/site/valkparts/ sells a stealth desmog kit. You can find an online manual here. http://valkyrienorway.com/download.html

Welcome. I also always recommend a hard copy. I like the digital PDF for the computer and traveling, but nothing like the manual beside you at the bike.
I've not done something like that myself, but would also recommend a de-smog too. Search is always your friend. It's just hard sometimes knowing the right or best word to use.
I also like going to ebay, do a search for what you want, in this case an engine, and you can look over the different pictures and see what it looks like outside of the bike. I think that would help a lot.

Definitely do a de-smog, you will eliminate a lot of vacuum hoses down there. I even got rid of all the carb drain hoses on both my bikes. Never used them, probably never will!

Same here. I figure if I ever need to drain the bowls I can hook a hose up one at a time.

If you go to google and type in Honda Valkyrie vacumm lines. You'll get a ton of pictures as to were they all go.

If you do the desmog, the only vacuum line you will need is from number 6 carb to the OEM petcock. Also, one of the lines to airbox would be eliminated. Redeye has what you need to do the desmog (see below ). I wouldn't eliminate the carb drain tubes, you never know when you might want to empty your float chambers.? https://sites.google.com/site/valkparts/

Welcome to the insanity. I assume you are talking about vent and breather hoses as well as vacuum lines. You need to enlist the direct aid of one of us nearby, not a Honda dealer, to help out. There is a mess of hoses under the tank and I would not know where to begin. I concur with the recommendation to do a desmog.
As the proud owner of a '98 Tourer, welcome...
