Just a curious question on 6 into 6 exhaust length. How far back do the cobras go compared to other brands? I just put a set on my bike (not sure of brand because they don't say Cobra) and notice the pipes end at the backside of the differential as compared to other pictures i have seen where they seem to be end at the backside of the rear fender.

Thanks,

Could be Two Brothers or Cobra  .... I can say pretty sure they have been butchered.... My bet cut Cobra's.

Below is the Cobra's on my Interstate.

in any opinion would it be worth getting some extensions made up for them?

They don't feel cut and if so they were done really really good.

They only go back as far as the back of the differential. I don't think it is that big of a deal but you know, looking for some opinions and advice. i bet they are 12 inches shorter than the ones you all have shown.

Why would you want extensions? Too loud? Longer won't make that better.

Yours are similar to how mine are. Are yours factory or did you have them modified that short?

Mainly for looks.. I am used to OEM length I guess. I love the sound they give. Although I may look into baffles.

Every time I'm working around my Cobra's I'm reminded why they call them "slash cuts". Because that's what they do!  tickedoff I sure wish they had just taken a moment to dress the edges before chroming. I try to remember to drape a towel around the ends before working, cleaning, or drying in that area.

I have aftermarket 8" baffles in mine and the db level is a great balance between open pipes and factory 12" baffles.

Where did you get your baffles and what brand are they?

They are MID-USA Motorcycle Parts #95016 baffles. They're available at various places. You can get them here: www.legendmcs.com/mid-usa-harley-parts-exhausts/exhausts-mufflers-baffles.html

Another option for even quieter Cobra's might be these from Dennis Kirk - but read the one review.

Thank you very much for the info. I have been looking at baffles and the prices are 3 to 4 times higher.  cooldude

I just saw on your profile you are in San Antonio, Tx. I was just out there a couple weeks ago for an EGSA conference.

I do like the look of your exhaust. I may keep mine short like that for a while. Can never seem to stop tinkering with the dragon.

I had them modified. I just wish I had gone a couple of more inches shorter, would have cleared the axle bolt! Sad

Yep, neither can I. Next time you are down here in South TX, give me a shout out.
