Sea Foam mixture

I've always used Sta Bil to store my engines for winter.  Since everyone extols the virtues of Sea Foam, I am going with it this year.  The can says one ounce to one gallon.  Is this the the consensus of the group or should I use more or less?  Thanks, always good advice here.

Without looking I thought the directions stated 1/2 oz/gal for storage and 1oz/gal for cleaning..  But, regardless, it won't hurt either way if the bike is running good and I like more rather less in most things in life including Sea-Foam..Just be sure its well mixed and the engine is run long enough to get it to the carburetors..

The size can I use is 16 oz.  I've been dumping 1/2 the can in, then fill up with gas for storage.  I put a few miles on just to make sure it has reached the carbs.  I think the label says use more to clean -- less to maintain.  Never had any fuel related issues to date (knocking on wood).  I've found that Stabil will over time separate and form little granule like globules of something in the bottom of the bottle.  I noticed that five or six years ago as I was dumping the remaining contents of Stabil into the gas tank.  Removed the tank/petcock and cleaned it all out, then did it again . . . with Sea Foam.   Ymmv,

ditto for me - 1/2 a can to a full tank of fuel, then ride enough to get it through the system.  I also then shutoff the petcock and run the engine till it starves and dies.  Have never had fuel related problems with any of my machines with this approach.

I also have quite using Stabil - found that it breaks down in the bottle if it sits for awhile.  Not a very stable fuel stabilizer...

I throw the whole can in mine every winter............   Too damn lazy to measure it out.

I try to ride all year round...if there is no snow or ice on the ground....I use about 1/2 can at each change of the season...speaking of which...will have to add 1/2 can on Tuesday...

Thanks for the advice.  I even found a couple cans at Wally World.  My riding will be sporatic for awhile so I'll start mixing it in.

I use to use “Sta-Bil” and will never ever use it again.  I had an ’87 LeBarron convertible that I use to store every Nov. 1st and religiously used sta-bil in the last fill up before storing.  One spring my fuel line was so brittle and spongy that the fuel line ruptured and sprayed fuel all over my exhaust manifold.  You guessed it, fire!  Thankfully my AC line ran right through that same area and the R-12 suffocated the flames!!  Honestly and amazing stroke of luck! 

I siphon out as much fuel as I can, start my cycle and let it run until she dies.  Then open the little Philips screws on the bottom of each float cup to drain out the rest of my fuel.  Do the same things with the lawn mowers.  Haven’t had a problem yet.
