They sell the plastic part with the grip on. It's probably hard to get off, but maybe doable. You
could try finding some blade-like thing thin enough to slip in between the grip and the plastic without
hurting anything and thick enough to be able to force in there without buckling (some feeler gauge
maybe) and squirt/work wd40 down in there until the grip just slips off...

Rubbing alcohol is a good rubber lubricant (don't google for that), and you'll need some kind of
lubricant that will "go away" when you're putting the grip back on, so that might be a good
thing to try instead of wd40...

Depending on what kind of grips your going to put on you may not need the plastic sleeve.  If you want Kuryakyn ISO's, they make them for the Valk fitted for the sleeve.  If you use any standard one inch grip (Harley style), you wont need the sleeve.  The only thing you may need to do is grind down the opening of the housing a little.  I changed mine out to standard grips no problem.

If you have stock grips, unscrew the end cap and blow in compressed air.  If no compressed air, use WD-40.  A thin blade, meat skewer stick, coat hanger, etc. can be used to pry the grip away from the plastic throttle housing.

Here are links to helpful instructions:

It is not that difficult.

Good luck.

The best tool for grip removal is an Ice Pick.  Remove the end cap, carefully slide the ice pick between the sleeve and grip, slide the long thin nozzle tube that comes with the product up next to the ice pick and spray with WD40, brake cleaner (alcohol), etc.  Two or three insertions should get the grip loose from old glue.  I don't like OEs, so I cut them off with a utility knife and discard, but this is how to get any grip off with minimal damage.

I got rid of the giant chrome handgrips that were on my bike when I got it and got
HDL to send me some new OEM grips...
