With this new 2000 Valkyrie I just bought. It has a half a tank of gas in it. It seems to run just fine. In the last 6 plus months it was not been ridden much at all if any, just started up here and there. I would like to put in some Seafoam, B-12, Lucas, etc... Should I just add it to the gas that is in there or drain the tank and start with a fresh fill up? If I drain it would siphoning out of the tank be sufficient?

siphoning the tank is probably as good a way as any... when
I first got my bike I had the tank off, and there's some channels
or something in there, all the gas won't come out even if you
open the lid and turn it upside down...

If you really want all the gas out (I don't know) you could then
open the drains on all the carburetors after you've
gotten as much out of the tank as possible... I've never done that,
don't know if it is likely to be hard or easy...

Drain it if not running right.  Ride it if it's running good until you hit reserve, then fill.  Done

Don't think I would worry about draining it at all. Just treat it and run it  cooldude

You bike say the bike is running bad, so just go for a nice ride, it'll only be how far, 50-100 miles?

Then I would fill with Techron fuel from Chevron, just to clean things out a little.

If you have any trouble, then about 1/2 a can of a strong cleaner, Techron, Berryman B-12, will help out. Sea foam is good for the storage period.

I'm cheap.  Ride it until it runs dry (have a 2gal. can along), fill it with fresh and it's DONE.  I'd definitely treat it with SeaFoam and/or Lucas as well.  Pulling the tank and the petcock to clean the filter screen isn't a bad idea either.

As mentioned get it ran down to reserve, add1/2 can of Seafoam to a fresh full tank of gas. I encountered dirty carb issue when I purchased my Valk and this cured the problem within 5 mi. Kinda scared the hell out of me how powerful the bike was. I wasn't a big fan of Seafoam @ all until then but I only use it for dirty carb situation. The rest the time I use Berryman, STP, etc. twice a season and Stabil for winter layup.
