Author Topic: Swingarm Chome Caps  (Read 770 times)

I've lost one and the other is loose. I've ordered 2 replacement caps. What do YOU use to keep them in place? I've never had this problem before.

I had one all but out and a buddy saw it. I put Permatex clear
RTV silicone on the prongs and where the inside lip of the cap
bottoms out in the swingarm with no movement in three years.

I lost one resently and others on here recommended silicone also, so far so good but that was about a month ago

tightly stretched piece of electrical tape, just enough to make a tight fit. I lost one haven't since.
 did same on center caps on my now gone '99 Dakota. 50k miles they were still there. did this after losing the first one.

+1 if you don't have clear on hand just have rag ready to wipe off the excess.
