An Anti-Freeze question?

I know at one time we had to stick to a certain type of anti-freeze. Silicate free I think? Can we use any kind of anti-freeze now?

I always use to use the Honda brand. It was worth the extra couple of bucks to be sure.

You can get silicate free 50-50 antifreeze cheaply and easily at
all the Auto Zone and big box type places... I use it, I think most
people do... I would use that million dollar an ounce Honda stuff
if I knew a reason... 50-50 ethylene glycol silicate-free is the only
thing the manual says...

I think silicate free is almost universal now.
Remember if you do your own mix, distilled, not tap water (or Sam's Club).
The premix is a better idea.

Honda's premixed for me also. I have spent over $800 for a seat and a couple hundred for highway pegs and bar risers and who knows how much in good riding gear, so a few bucks extra for easy to use premixed coolant is not a big deal for me.
