Right side works fine.
The left turn signal, front and rear stay on as soon as you turn the key on.  They don't blink and they are much brighter than the running lights.  The turn signal indicator on the headlight bucket stays on steady all the time, but will blink when right side is engaged.  Changed both bulbs , no change.  got switch apart.
Now what do I do or check?

HELP Please,
  Wewa

I had a similar issue, though I can't remember the exact symptoms, that was solved by spraying contact cleaner into the turn signal switch.

Doesn't the rear amber light have a single filament bulb and used only for turn signal? If you have rear tail or brake with turn signal, then there is modification, possibly a magic box or relay solenoid. I am reaching here, but maybe something to look at. There is a blinker relay in the left rear side cover behind the coolant tank, but unless some wiring problems with it I doubt that would cause your trouble.

Did this just happen overnight or is there more story?  Would like to help, but no clue at this point, probably very simple.

I installed the wrong replacement bulbs once(don't know how as the little pins were different) and had a similar end result as you describe.

A pinched line resulting in a short (ground) will behave as you describe.

I have checked my relay and it only clicks when right side blinkers are on.  I cleaned the switch.
This happened on a ride and I tried replacing the front and rear bulbs on that side 1156 and 1157 but no change.
Willow where would one start looking for a short and is there any proceedure I could follow?
I guess I can take the rear fender off and check wiring under there.

Seems to me a bad ground could cause this, maybe at the light socket. Think I would pull the lens on both sides and check with maybe a 12 volt test light and see if there is any difference. Or maybe use a piece of wire and ground the socket to a good ground like the battery.

The stock flasher unit is NOT solid state.  It could well be that the flasher unit is bad.  In face if the lights are on steady then it is either the flasher unit or you have a short to ground on the turn signal circuit.  I would replace the flasher unit with a solid state unit.

Except the left and right signals use the same flasher, and the right signals work fine.

Mine was because I pinched it under the rear taillight and turn signal units being attached to the fender.  Virtually anywhere along that line where it could ground out would have the effect.

Just for grins, check the connecter under the fender, where the wires unhook to remove the rear fender cooldude

Well it seems that the taller CT 205/65 and some low hanging wires got together and did the, wire insulation / rubber boogie.   All but 1 wire had a bare spot.  The plug was also wore down a bit, after some black electrical tape and some re routing of the wires I have functioning turn signals.
AND I discovered that there is an actual place for the wires to be secured under there, YAY  2funny
I also found that the PO had changed the 10amp fuse to a 15amp so I changed it back and turned the key on engaged the blinker and POP the fuse blew.  Well the reason it is now a 15amp is because he added some rear running lights.
Back in the wind  cooldude Cool
So thanks for all your help,

Happy you figured it out, Michvalk got it right too! It's good to do your on repair and maintenance, learn alot and can help when your on the side of the road. You can find loose bolts and problems while cleaning and detail work also. Great!
