Hi Guys  got a small issue with my machine.  I pulled my bike out of winter storage, we still have snow but I always like to go over her from end to end with q-tips. After a through cleaning   I  topped up her tank and she started right up as usual.  I let her run to get some of the stabilizer out  of her system and get some of the fresh fuel through..After letting her run I noticed a small dribble of fluid sitting on top of the block directly below the chrome pipe that connects to the carb. Does anyone have any idea what is the cause and Is it hard/expensive  to correct. I can see it is coming from below the chrome pipe where it connects to the main part ofvthe engine..I'n the picture I have a red arrow pointing to the location..this is on the right side

Your pic doesn't show up but I went into you library and saw another pic. The arrow is pointing to the intake runner. I couldn't see any liquid but I take your word. It's a very common problem. You need new intake runner o-rings. Do all 6.  cooldude

The inside bolt on those intakes are a bit of a pain... but have patience and it's an easy fix.  Or, just get a swivel socket and it's easier to get to that inside bolt.

- Loosen the carb rubber on the lower section
- Take out the 2 bolts and remove chrome intake runner
- Remove old o-ring, clean area, and put in new o-ring
- Replace runner and resnug carb rubber
- Have a brew of your favorite flavor

Maybe 5 - 10 minutes per runner??  Not bad at all.  cooldude

I'll agree with the above. But I didn't look at your pic.

My first thought was fuel leaking from the carb O-rings. These can dry out, and when you start riding again, they leak a little. Usually in a few days, they swell up again from the new fuel, and no more leak.

I also want to get a 5 set pack of rear seals and also a set of carb tubes O-rings from Caroline Bike and trike.

Thanks for all the great info and quick response. I'm so glad to here it's not that serious.  If this happened to my car or van  I'd have the attitude, put it in the shop and get it fixed no big deal. But not my Valkyrie. I can get back to polishing her..lol

Again thanks so much to all..

Are you sure it's gasoline? Did you touch the liquid? Sometimes the upper end of the radiator hose will drip after cold storage. If the hose clamp is positioned in the right location it can be tightened with a long screwdriver. The drip may have occurred higher than where it seems to came from.

Nope not where he describes. Intake O rings is what needs attention .
