while out at Taz' Midwest ride this weekend.
This is from Taz' post on the VOAi site tonite
"Talked to Jim from PdC Sunday night and Walt...aka Kingbee....is still in hospital for further observation. His wife and a neighbor are there as well. The latest is he has a broken rib, chipped vertebrae in neck but is not serious, broken left thumb and the broken angel bone behind his collar bone. Still having some issues with breathing.
So that is the lastest, Jim from PdC will call hospital tomorrow night to see what new as of then and I will let ya know."
Hope they both are ok as well as that all returned safely from CBR

I just spoke with his wife Laurie aka Queenbee. He's banged and busted up pretty good and apparently is in good spirits, although that could be the morphine. "Stinger" is banged up too, but ridable. Walt's joking that he needed a winter project anyway. Don't know for sure yet. But, it seems he may have unloaded the rear suspension in a left hander with the Rivco center stand arm and then the bike high sided him. He was unconscious for several minutes and had some slight internal hemorrhage that the Dr's said should be nothing. Without the helmet he'd no longer be with us. He was transported [helicopter] to LaCrosse [WI]. BTW Queenbee was home in Chicago at the time and not involved in the crash.

I wish him the best and hope he recover's soon. That sure was a one-of-a-kind beautiful Valk he has. I had the Rivco center stand on my bike and took it off after the first ride those things will kill you I don't think you could put anything more dangerous on the Valkyrie than the Rivco center stand. I had mine on my bike for about 18 miles and knew if I did'nt get it off it was going to high-side me .Photo below is the one that was on my bike I traded it to another VRCC member for ( 2 ) new Avon front tires...Again best wishes Walt heal fast

I was just a few bikes back from him-- one of the scariest things I've ever seen with him just laying on the ground not moving. Was very happy when they got him to come to...
Ride safe, folks!

Got a lift, floor jack and jack stands...will get a set of those drive-on/drive-off wheel rollers for cleaning purposes if need be, but I think I'll pass on the centerstand. Now if they could have tucked it up into the lipe and frame area as was the case with the 'Wings ...
