Going to pick up my 2014 red Valkyrie Wednesday. Really excited; have heard nothing but rave comments by those who own them. Had to sell my 2009 Suzuki M90 to get it but think it will be worth it, considering the legendary Goldwing reputation.
Just for fun, I looked up the word "Valkyrie" and was rather surprised to know where the term came from, interesting especially if you're into Norse folklore.
Looking forward to learning from you all as I anticipate making a few mods. Right off the bat, would like to know more about backrests that are available for this bike; my wife would love it so any opinions or suggestions you all have, I would appreciate hearing them. Thanks to all.

Corbin seats offer a backrest addon for both rider and passenger. If your looking for just a passenger the OEM leans back too far per my wifes opinion, I installed a LeatherLyke trunk with a built-in backrest. Here is the post I made about the install

There I lay, broken and bloody, my life slipping away when a beautiful winged woman in glorious golden armor appeared.
"Come with me" she said.
"To where?" I asked.
"To Valhalla"

WELCOME to the Dragon club, I also had to sell the bike I had, and it was a 1998 Valkyrie STD. But when I test road the 1832 it was a no brainer. The mmotoris awesome! Roll on crusing power is great. Out ridin through smaller towns down to like 35 MPH and only down shift to 4th gear, reach the end of town and just twist the throtle, GO-Go-GO. Its an awesome bike.
