Me and Robert rode up to his house in Myrtle last Friday. We left the House (Speedway) @ 8:30 am and headed out SR50 on a Beautiful morning.

We rode out on SR50 and picked up 19N to 17N right out of FL. We headed up on I95 as far as 301 in SC which took us over to 521 and found some detours which wound up being some awesome country backroads.
We took our time getting there, stopping every 125 miles for my thirsty Fat Lady

Roberts Wing only filled up when I was on my second tank

Our average speed on the big roads was 85mph, any slower and the cages and trucks would run us down. We arrived at the house around 8pm just as it was getting dark.

Got the bikes all cleaned up in the morning. Looks like Darth Vader & Storm Troopers

Got into relax mode with a great cigar and a Single Malt on the huge deck. Real nice place in Ocean Lakes, walk to the Ocean, and they have so many amenities right on property.
After checking the weather and getting updates from Gil, we decided to head out early and miss the weather that was going to roll in Monday morning. So we left after lunch on Sunday and headed out some back roads to I95.
Gil had gotten back to us warning us of some storms rolling in South of us and right in our path, and no sooner did he text us with this info, sure as heck we were in the soup.

It was a drizzle at first then a steady rain....then a Moonsoon

We rode that out as far as we could, cars were pulling off I95 to the shoulder trucks were coming by us at high speed giving us more to deal with, so we got off the very next exit.
If U are ever on I95 don't ever get off the Yemassee exit in SC. At this point we could not see anything in front of us let alone signs for shelter and or gas. We get off this god forsakin exit and when we get to the first road expecting to see the normal gas station, Dennys etc all we see is a sign that says Yemassee 8 miles.
Well that don't sound so bad when it's nice out and a simple twist on the throttle and the Fat Lady would make that trip in 3 min time. The road was a very narrow country road with shizit for drainage, so we were plowing water for 8 miles to get to bum F&@% Nowhere.
We finally roll into town and I use the term town loosely, it was a one Blinking light town with a EL Cheapo Gas Sta with the smallest canopy u ever seen over a 2 pump island

Me and Robert took one side of the pump and tried to keep water from getting into the tank as we filled, passing the hose to each other as the other blocked the rain. Now we get done fueling the bikes in time for the thunder & lighting show in the town of horrors with nothing there but this gas station and small convenience store with No Conveniences

No Cawfee Not even Hot Water.
Our only saving grace was an abandoned warehouse down the road with a ramp that we were able to get shelter. Good thing we packed some sandwiches and had a cooler of drinks. We hung there for about an hour and a half until it let up enough to ride in.

The town had No Cell Phone service for AT&T but Robert had service on his phone, allowing us to stay informed with our weather man slash re routing guru Gil

He was nice enough to get us hotel info at different exits we would be passing along with addresses and info. And of course in typical Gilster fashion he let us know that we could get a discount as a Married couple and share one bed cheaply because SC recognizes same sex marriage

Anyway we finally ran out of rain in Brunswick GA, yeah right were Gil said we would, so we stopped at a Dennys and relaxed for a bit and hit the road, the dry road and hammered down to New Port Richey at warp speed, got home safe @ 2am
It's all about the experience and the friendship. Good to know that there is a Great group of people on our forum that truly are concerned about U , and I feel the same about them
