....................I did a job I normally would have taken to a shop to handle. Now I have new rear wheel bearings, thrust washer, all 3 o-rings replaced, a good hub and final drive, drive shaft, brake pads, shock bushings replaced and everything lubed as it should be. Got her buttoned up and took a short run thru the neighborhood and all seems as it should be. Since it's raining out, I'll now be giving her a good detail to get rid of the grease and dirt she's accumulated recently sitting in the garage and getting worked on. I now have a starting point for those things as far as future maintenance is concerned and the confidence to go over a R & R whatever else is needed and may have been neglected by the previous owner, as well as to maintain my baby myself. Thanks everyone who contributed to a good outcome.  cooldude cooldude cooldude

Yep, the VRCC is an awesome community/resource... I did most of those things to my bike when I first
got it, aided every step along the way by the VRCC... I left out the distance spacer and had to
replace my bearings twice  uglystupid2 and I didn't carefully clean off the pistons on my
brake caliper, I just mashed them in dirty (paid for that later...) It is a great time learning how
to ride and maintain this cool motorcycle, and the VRCC is a major factor in that...

No doubt - this board has been huge for helping me understand and get the most out of my Valk.  This unique motorcycle needs and deserves such a resource.   cooldude  I am very grateful as well.

I agree with everyone's post... although I can't say I left out the spacer  ???

This board has saved me lots of money and has educated me on how to work on this fine machine.  From desmog to tire changing it has been a great time....  And a better time when you have the opportunity to work on a bike w/ fellow valk members from the board.

I just got back from a "wrench" weekend down at Pharmboys in Lawton.  Budman paid a visit to the garage and we fixed him up with a full final drive service and u-joint inspection along with a new tire  cooldude

More to that story when I have time to add pics and enought time to write a dialogue to the pics...

Great board and fantastic members
