I know some are using this amp.  I have a Std., will it fit behind the battery or am I going to have to put it in the Hoppe fairing?

edit;  CX1410.  Originally in the header I put 2410.  Mixed up my numbers.  uglystupid2

Can't find the cx1410 listed on eBay or Amazon.

Is this correct?

Where is it available?

Sorry, can't get anything right today. Damn dyslexia.

XC1410...................not cx1410.

You can find it at both of those sites with the correct identifying numbers.   Roll Eyes

You mean like this one?
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/lp/pla-4-channel-amplifiers/xc1410?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=bing_pla&utm_campaign=Bing+PLAs&affiliate=adcenterpla&scpid=31&scid=scsho3799406

Not sure if it will fit in that area or not. I don't have one of those amplifiers. I've got a relay pack and terminal board in that area. I almost bought this amplifier to upgrade a friend's Harley, but ended up going with this one. http://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-KAC-M3004-Compact-Channel-Amplifier/dp/B00UVWC55A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1463911727&sr=8-1&keywords=kenwood+kac-m3004
Very impressed with the amp. I fitted it inside the fairing on that bike.

I've heard the Alpine version of this Clarion amp and it did a decent job.

I have a Kenwood Ecelon amp mounted inside my Woody's airing on my Valkyrie.
http://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-XR400-4-eXcleon-Reference-Amplifier/dp/B00C1D0DHE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1463911936&sr=8-1&keywords=kenwood+excelon+xr400-4

It powers four 5.25" Kickers in the fairing and two 6,5" Kickers in the saddlebags.

I know this doesn't answer your primary question, but I didn't see anyone else chiming in. Roll Eyes

If it were me, I would want the amplifier mounted in the fairing.

Yah, in the fairing.  It is a Hoppe fairing.  The only way I can see to put it in there would be Velcro.

Too late for that.  I had a new ClearView shield to put on that bike.  Just now put it all together.  Not going to take it back apart for fear of damaging the shield.

Looking at the dimensions of the amp and measuring behind battery...no way...but, I think it will sit just fine on top of the battery.  Again probably need some Velcro.  The radio on the Interstates have the radio on top of the battery and appears there is the same amount of room on a Std between the seat and battery.

So I think we will be ordering that amp.  Seem like those that have it are happy and I am only using the 2 speakers in the fairing and plugging an MP3 player into it.  Got to be better than the cheap Chinese amp (less than $20) that worked for 2 summers and burnt up. Turned the key on in the garage and smoke started rolling out from under the seat.    2funny

So the fairing halves of the Hoppe fairing are difficult to deal with? The windshield and front half of my Woody's comes apart pretty easily. Three screws along the bottom on each side and the three screws along the windshield.  Easy peasy to deal with.

I'm using the Kenwood M3004 playing Mp3 files. It does the job for me the music was losing to the increased wind noise from 45 mph up.
Now with a small increase in volume the music is as clear as it is at lower speeds.

The Hoppe fairing is one piece. You have to slide the fairing over the windshield.  And you use all the hardware that is on the back side of the shield to attach the fairing to the shield.  If I would take it off, I would cover the shield front and back with...I guess painters tape or such.  But I am pretty certain that the amp I have asked about should set on top of the battery cover with plenty of room.

PS  My wife rides this one and is quite jealous that I have music (I/S) and she doesn't.   coolsmiley

OK, you must have a different Hoppe fairing than what I'm thinking about.
I was thinking like this one on XF6 site. It's the only Hoppe fairing I'm familiar with.

Here you go.  Smokin' Joe has one.  Black Dog and Mike in SC to name a few.  Not very attractive, but functional because it was made specifically for the Valk by the same guy that makes the Woody fairings.  Greg Woods. Someone correct me if I got his first name wrong.

Thanks.  Yea, I knew that.  Met him several years ago.  Just forgot.  That seems to be happening more frequently the older I get.   crazy2

Yeah, that fairing. Roll Eyes

I now understand why you are reluctant to attempt putting the amp there. cooldude
