If it an't broke, don't fix it

Just got a good deal I think on a 99 I/S with a Voyager conv. included. What do I need to do as far as what to look for, problems. Guy didn't do his own work and didn't ride much. I don't think he checked anything, the leaf springs are sticking out of the back at different lengths, I would think that needs a look, adjust. Anything else, opinions of how it works, advantages, disadvantages. Only rode it home and to work today. 100 miles at most. Undecided about it as of yet. TIA

Go over to the Florida board and look for a fellow named "sealskiner", real name Tom. Great fellow. Has one on a 1998 Tourer & loves it.

That's him at the Deland Bikefest in March.

Yes I did go to a few sites already and wanted some Valk owner input is all. Personal experiance is more important to me than advertising, if you know what I mean. Thanks

I've had mine sense 2003 I lost my leg in an accident the kit is great on smooth rodes it well bounce you around on rough rodes you have too take curves at posted speeds as the bike wants to go straight all the time, I ride mostly on 2 wheels now I've found it's easy to take off not so easy to put back on. as for your leaf springs mine stick out uneven also you may have to do a new preload as they call it you put the rear tire on a piece of 1/2 inch plywood loosen up your springs and shocks and retighten did you get all the paper work with it it tells you how to do this and the maintance on the kit. also if you ride with the kit off be real carefull as the mounting hardware hangs about 11/2 inchs lower and you ride hit on curves I know I hit on a curve and went into a wobble well scare the s--t out of you  MY email is on here if you have any ??? or if you live close to a dealer that installs these they can help you
