Thanks for the help and suggestions, turned out the U Joint took a dump and got to making a louder Clulk. got her in the shop praying for a quick fix. I really need it to go to the Smoke Out Rally in Rockingham NC, 17-18 great party gorgeous bikes and music, HOT HOT Women out the ass. gotta be there.
Going to get the fork seals done too. It's going to Hurt the pocket book but I got to have my Fatt Baybee gurl on the road...........................Party time Be there
You are a brave man. I have no doubt the shop will be able to install a new U-joint and charge you hundreds to do it. What I wouldn't have faith in is whether or not they put the rear end back together right.
You can get a u-joint for around $70 and could put it in yourself and know the final drive and wheel are properly aligned and the splines are properly greased. I took my forks to a shop (not the whole bike) and they rebuilt both forks tubes for $90 and then I put them back on the bike.
On the other hand....the best way to learn how to work on your bike is to take it to a Dealership, pay them hundreds to fix it and then have to go back and redo their mistakes.
