The screw fell out of the gas selector...on/off knob...the one way inside that deep center hole.  Forgot to tighten it when putting things back together last week.  It is listed as (5x25)  Is that a 5 mm dia. pitch 1, 25 mm long?  I'm sure I can get one at Lowes.  HDL gets $2.50 + shipping.

Go to Porter's Hdwe out there by you and tell them you want a 5X25, with a Phillips head.

Isn't loss of that screw supposed to be prevented by a small cotter pin crossing the bore of the knob?  Yours must not have been so equipped.  I suggest you install one after inserting new screw, or perhaps, a piece of safety wire through the holes for the cotter  pin.

FYI, 5mm metric thread pitches are 0.8mm (coarse) and 0.5mm (fine).  Coarse is more likely and more common, but I'm not sure which your fuel valve knob screw is.

Cotter pin is there.  Somehow it worked it's way past it.

Yes, that would be a M5 for diameter and 25mm long. We're used to metrics, here in Canada  Wink
