We had the honor of attending the Bay Pines VA Memorial Day Ceremony located in Bay Pines Fl.
This was a beautiful, touching ceremony. I would like to thank those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our Nation.
We were shocked at the lack of attendance. I remember when we were younger this was packed full.  We were among the youngest in attendance in our 50's. No "Free Stuff" handout generation in sight. I guess they are all at Wal-Mart with their coupons, or partying?

Unfortunately, you may be right. I do not think much of this is taught in schools anymore. Not politically correct.
Anyway......good to hear from you again, was beginning to wonder!

Sad what has become of Humanity. This Generation along with it's Government as a whole, will go down as the worst in History....Thanks for your Service  cooldude

A generation that will not help the elderly, heck they can't even wipe their own drool.

Viv and I went to two Memorial Services in DeLand today. We were used to attending in CT and were wondering what there was here in Florida. We contacted the local authorities and they pointed us toward two ceremonies here locally. We were pleasantly surprised in both locations. Great speakers and attendance was very good. I guess we moved to the right town.  cooldude

I never left the house today, for any reason. I spent the day with this:

and remembering those that never came home and those (some of whom I knew) that died as a result of Agent Orange.

We went to the ceremonies an the National cemetery in Bushnell, good turnout and moving ceremony.
Always gets to me as to the memories it brings back, I lost 3 very good friends in Vietnam. But I have to agree, this country has lost a lot of the patriotism that it once had. Really sad.
