The front tab on my right side cover is broken off. I'm sure this happens often. What different things do you do to hold it secure.

if u have the tab most ABS glue it or plastic weld it. my tab for the left cover went missing so I used Velcro in two places to hold it. been good for a few yrs now.

There's also some pictures you can search for on the tech board
that show how to glue a romex staple in place of the tab on the
side cover to fix it...

Mine were chrome so I just drilled a small hole into the overlap of the front and side cover and used a short stainless screw.

I had to redo both mine a long time ago. Took some body's advice of a big paper clip, twisted it and used plastic cement from your local farm an barn store to csment it together. Be sure to ruff up the inside of the cover.
