Blessing things

At a barbecue, last night, the cook  turned me on to a flyer for an event at the border town of Nueveo Progreso, Tamps. MX. 
I checked out the Tequileros bike club website http://tequilerosbikeclub.com/ and found that, along with all the other fiestivites, they were have a "helmet blessing".
I'd never heard of that but it seems like a darned good idea, like a back-up plan.
