Where can I purchase the chrome plated, plastic POS petcock knob and stem for my '98 Tourer or something similar to it that will switch me between my regular and reserve?

did you try removing the fuel tank without removing the secret screw? I only posted this because we have a few new Valkyrie owners and this along with improper removal of side covers is a common mistake....

Secret screw? When removing the fuel tank, one must disconnect the fuel control switch from the actual petcock. To do this you stick a Philips screwdriver into the hole in the middle of the switch and connect with the trapped hidden "secret" screw.

Secret screw? Yes, the phillips buried deep inside the knob itself. You have to remove that before doing anything else or you'll break something....usually the stem of of the knob. Aahh....Chris was quicker on the answer.

No ChrisJ CMA, it broke over 10 years ago and I haven't replaced it because I was pissed at how cheaply the part was made. I've just been running without the reserve. Does this mean that the gas in the reserve is 10 years old? I thought it was about time to do so. Is there a better solution?

I would love the knob if available. I have a naked petcock.

About the gas... there is no separation between reserve gas and non reserve gas. It all mixes as you drive so there is no 10 year old gas in there
