I left home about 11:00 AM, with the Harley firmly stowed in my enclosed trailer. Stopped for gas at the last exit in GA on I-95, Supper at Cracker Barrel in Rock Hill, SC, and shut down for the night just before Midnight in Hillsville, VA (I-77, Exit 14)
I will be out of here about 9:00 AM, and intend to get a room in Bennington, VT. Friday morning, I will be checking in to my rented house for 7 days.

Judging by the forecast, I may not be doing a lot of riding in VT, as the tail end of Colin looks like it is going to be hanging around and depositing moisture for at least the next 4-5 days. All I can do is hope that the weatherman is WRONG.

Good chance that the weather man is wrong so cross your fingers and hope for the best.
Take a couple of pictures if you can.

Overnight, there has been a complete change in the forecast. It will be cool (Glad I brought my chaps and other gear) but now they are saying dry all week!!!! If I have my way, I won't drive the Suburban after arriving, until next Friday!!!!!

Glad you had a safe trip up and the weathermans forecast was wrong. Hopefully they have it right. Enjoy your class reunion and write on your name tag AKA (OLD FRT) unless you think it would offend the rest of the OLD FRT's.  cooldude

RIDE SAFE, and enjoy that cool weather coolsmiley

I made it to my rented house about 12:45 Friday morning, and all is well. So far, the weather forecast still looks good for the next week, anyway. However, the early morning temps will have me bundling up with my Chaps and the leather jacket zipped up tight. It is supposed to be 46 degrees tomorrow AM. I will keep everybody posted every evening.

Friday was a rough day. No hot water in the 1st house (eventually replaced the heater) and then a threat of no power in the second house had me moving twice. Then some JACK*** knocked the Harley over into a stone wall and tore the Tour Pak up. I ended up removing it (with one 3/8 in wrench and a small adjustable) but I have no FM Radio, as the antennae mount on the Tour Pak.

Saturday was better, but only got in about 35 miles of riding before it rained. In Florida, I would have suited up and rode, but the temps ranged from high 50s to low 60s.

Sunday was cool and breezy, but I got in about 100 miles and a few hours of visiting.

Tomorrow is my ride up the length of VT. Weather appears to be staying cool and breezy, but dry for the rest of the week.

WOW! Sorry to hear that about the tour pack Don. Most people have no respect for other people let alone someone else's property. Do you think you will be able to buff it out or are you looking at a paint job?
Ride Safe and enjoy those cool temps, I like riding in the cooler temps.

Unfortunately, it didn't just scratch the Tour Pak. It ripped the cover off, and busted up the bottom. Complete replacement except for the lights and wiring is in order. Sad Sad Sad

Don I would like to take a look at it before you spend any money on a replacement. Sorry to hear this as that has a tendency to take some of the wind out of your sail when on vacation.
Ride safe,

HI Don, don't forget there are hundreds for sale at the Webster bike swap. Don't let it ruin your vacation, duct tape it together from the inside and no one will notice as you pass them doing 80 mph.
Ride safe.

Oh, I didn't let it ruin my vacation. I just removed the broken Tour Pak, and bungee'd what I had to have with me (that wouldn't fit in the saddle bags) and went on my merry way. By the time I got back to my rented house tonight, I had put over 600 miles on since arriving in VT.

Thanks for the tip about the Webster Bike Swap. When is the next one?

Thanks, Bill. I will wait until the next one before I do anything about replacing it. I'll just have to buy a cheap clamp-on antenna for my Stereo, so I don't have to do without my TUNES!!!!

Ya my 55 reunion is this month, in Massena, also I used to go out with a girl from Bratteboro when I was working in construction on UVM campus in 1967 she was in school there, she should be close to your age ! Her name was Connie Frost, cute little blonde, have fun up there and come back safe!

Well, No more mishaps, and I have moved from my rented house to the Motel in the town where my 50th Reunion is. All moved in and rode around for a couple of hours onroads I haven't rode on for many years. I have now put over 800 miles on the Harley and just over 100 on the Suburban, since arriving in VT. it will be about half & half for the weekend, and I start back to FL on Monday morning, dropping Roxie off at the airport on the way out of New England.
