Happy June 11th weekend to all Valkyrie riders! I'm the "new guy" who posted about motorcycle loops in Tampa, thanks to all who been very cool, responding to me and making me feel welcomed. So I have another question... Are there ever any Tampa Bay hosted motorcycle events like Leesburg, Daytona or InZane? I went to Leesburg this year and I really enjoyed it. I plan to try Daytona next time it happens. Next year I'm aiming for InZane and one day I'm going to Sturgis. But until then I limited to staying a bit closer. I would love to see one happen here in the Tampa Bay area. Another "newbie" question... how do I post pics in here? I want to show off my bike too! LOL And lastly, part of my riding hobby is planning and executing riding loops in the Tampa Bay area. here is one I'm planning to try https://goo.gl/maps/s1J2fiNPhgD2 Thoughts? I like to start my trips at a Wawas so I can fill up with ethanol free fuel! And I happen to live close to the the fairgrounds and casino area... oh and I wonder if I can actually complete the whole trip without stopping for fuel. I plan to go-cam the trip...

Best way to post pictures here is to start with an account on an external site such as Photobucket. Load your pics on there, place the cursor on the upper left corner of the pic you want and you get a drop down box. Click on "share", then next screen at the bottom click on IMG and it will then say "copied"....you don't click "copy" yourself. Next place your cursor on the where you want the picture to be on your post and click "paste." Then you do a "preview" and the pic will show. That method doesn't require that you resize your pics to fit the requirements of the board.

To post pics you need the image URL and use the image tags. For instance http://vrcc.photostash.com/vrcc_37247/Blue Angel and Bike.jpg is the image url held at the VRCC photo stash website and to make the image show up here I use the image tags, so it looks like [img]http://vrcc.photostash.com/vrcc_37247/Blue Angel and Bike.jpg[/img] when typing the code while composing your message. My picture eventually comes out like... You can use any website you want, but you need the .jpg at the end of the url that points to the picture. The VRCC photo stash website has a size limitation on what you upload, so you may need to resize your photo. The easiest way I've found to do that is with the website http://jpeg-optimizer.com/

There are a few, Gibsonton has a bike fest at te showmans hall south of tamps, Plant city has a small one every couple of months. Zepherhills has a music and motorcycles every few months. A good place to look is here, http://www.scooterschedule.com/ he has listings for all events in Florida.

Good pics. When using Phototstash the size limitation is the one big drawback, using something like Photobucket works best because no resizeing is necessary.

Galex, welcome to the site. You picked up on posting pictures quick, I still don't know how but I'm an old dog and kind of slow. I live in Hernando county and a lot of people from the Tampa area come up here to ride. We will ride back roads from Zephyrhills to Dunnellon, a lot of old Florida with resturants on the rivers. I rode Hernando today. Watch the board for rides, your ride looks scenic but also will involve a lot of traffic. If you live near the casino then your not far from us, let me know when you want to ride and a few of us will meet up with you and show you roads you won't find in the Tampa area. Right now some local riders are at Inzane, a few are on vacation, and 4 are going to NC for a week, but there's still enough to put a ride together. PM me if you can ride during the week, like Wed, Thurs, or Friday. Welcome and Ride Safe Steve

Thanks you, Steve. That's exactly the feedback I'm looking for. I'm looking to "get lost" on some good 'ole FL country roads that are motorcycle friendly. I once took a ride to NPR on my old bike (Honda 919) and I remember going thru some nice hilly, twisty, "tree caves" (as my 5 y/o son like to call them) roads and THATS what I would really love to find and document. I'm from NY and I use to ride the mountains there when I was young. I am taking the family on a NC vacation in July, to Transylvania County Land of the Waterfalls and I'm taking the Valk with me! I plan to record all that for you all. PS: you inspired me to plan a loop to Brooksville and back. I know a whole lot of you are vacationing, doing the Inzane thing, etc but I will definitely look for planned riding event here and see if/when I can fit in. thanks for the invite...

Spent some time at the Blue Ridge Campground (motorcycles only) on 276. A good BBQ place (Hawg Wild) on 276 and 64. A nice loop in the area is 276 up to and under the Blue Ridge Parkway down the other side. You'll come to an intersection with a red light. Turn left on 215 and go back up the mountain. Go under the Parkway and down the other side to 64.

Galex, I lived in Murphy NC for 10 years but have had a home there until last November which puts me in the area for 30 years. A lot of the road in Pasco, Hernando, and Citrus, remind me of that area. I think you will like these roads. You mention now that you are old things are different if you are 45 you are not old for this group we range from mid 50's to the mid 70's so you will be the kid which is a good thing. You will keep the group going. I think when we are riding we are all the same age just having fun. lets ride.

Hey RidingRon. I'm taking the family to Pisgah Forest, NC which is only 15 mins from Brevard, NC. We are staying in rental on top of a mountain community call Ridge Top. Looking at Google map I see LOTS of nice looking twisty mountain roads :-) I would love to get out to the Tail of the Dragon but I don't think I will make it this time but it's another bucket list riding destination.
So if you guys don't mind this 45 y/o kid tagging along once in awhile I'd be happy to try and keep up. I think we can all agree... we are all old enough to know better but still too young to resist!

Amen brother! Late 70's here and never been a "spirited" rider. When it comes to riding, you can do the hot rod routine and miss out on most of the country you're passing through. Or, you can slow down a bit and relax, enjoy the ride and scenery, and as I've proven dozens of times to friends over the years....I see stuff they completely miss. Not saying I can't do it, I've proven that more than once to some rather chagrined fellow riders when they realized a problem keeping up. Just choose not to, I've had my day in the sun so to speak and those days have resulted in mileage well into the six digit arena....if not beyond. See ya on a ride soon as they turn down the heat in Florida.
