A special shout out to Scott Talisman who regularly advertises here on VRCC for making a tank bib for our bike. I have one of Scott's tank bibs on my 1500 and now on the 1800!  http://www.saddlebagsbytalisman.com

I received my new tank bib and installed it today. I like the clean no pouch look however he has that as a option as well. Scott also had the black eyed studs to match the studs on my Seat!!!!

The fit was 100% perfect and a perfect line up of all holes making the install no more than 10 minutes. I am greatful to anyone who will take the time to support the 1800 as we do not have the options like the 1500 does. I'm not sure I will ever get the 1500 where I want it as the farkle options are endless!

I recently was accused of trying to 1500ize the 1800 and I agree I am guilty, I can't hide.   Roll Eyes  2funny
Now I need slash exhaust tips to extend out past the bags.   coolsmiley

Take a look at the Canadian craftsmanship!!  cooldude

I emailed them. Currently working on design and embroidery idea, but he quoted $89 for plain bib and $99 for braided.

Thanks for the solid Intel Jerry.

"Is that a wave in the middle is it suppose to be there??"  from Dragunslayer

If you are referring to the outline pattern of the bib it is to my template and can be a more rounded curve.

If you see a very small ripple in the bib it was new and sent curled and will flatten out, or maybe it already has.

Does that answer the question as I am not exactly positive what you were asking.   crazy2

I am talking about right where the bib passes the fuel tank inlet it seems to taper in and then flare back out and then tapers to the seat. My be an optical illusion.

I understand it cannot be done without a template, I work in the leather fabrication business thru my job and I was just wonder if it was by mistake or if it had an actual purpose. Other than that it looks great.

It was the first one made for an 1800. Scott did not have the bike to work with so it is my design template sent to him. It was not a mistake. If it is not to your taste then chalk it up to my personal preference. The only thing that is super important to Scott is the inside. I would think he would not put that dip in the ones he makes going forward.   Does that answer the question?   ???

We shall find out if the dip is included when mine arrives. Personnally, I hope it is. I like the look and it will fit well with the extra embroided pocket I asked for.

Kevin has a point, when I look at it on the bike one could follow the basic outline of the tank as another option that I would like to see.   Cool

Absolutely,
I am not knocking it, I am just wanted to know if there was a reason behind it. I love the looks and work you have done to your bikes. Please do not take it the wrong way. I am 50 and have worn glasses most of my life so I just thought maybe it was something else or there was a reason. Carry on.....

I am sure you will see it since I will most likely be making my own since I have the capability. I will be adding some personal touches ( can you say I see dragons ).  uglystupid2

I have been kicking around the idea of doing my own saddlebags in leather as well. The bags that came on my bike were made by Viking and have already started to fail in my opinion. I was going to go your route but have asked the owner of my company if he would help me build custom bags for my bike that would meet my requirements for storage and so forth.

We will see how that goes since I just took the Vikings off today. I will most likely powder coat the grap handles black as well so they disappear in the bike some.

No problem and not taken in a bad way Kevin  cooldude   We all have different ideas and that is what makes going to bike nights, kick tire times unique where you can see what every one has done to their rides. Very eager to see what you do as well.
