I take great offense to being called a bigot, a racist, sexist (anti-gay), etc becaue I stated that I didn't agree with a children's song.

I believe this person has gone too far and it should really be looked into.  I do not think I am over-exagerating.  Any educated person can see what he was saying.  This is outrageous.  Even for him.  I don't want the thread pulled.  I would like all to see how low this person will stoop.

I agree with you 100%, which actually why I chose to comment on this situation. It is so disgusting how pundits and politicians (and now news networks!) will falsely but intentionally label their opponents.

Bad enough when it's intentional, so better to address it when it may not be.

As i've said before....this country is basically split down the middle....almost 50/50. and while sometimes i find it amazing how different...IN SOME WAYS...we can be....that's just the way it is. And it's also amazing how far apart we are. one side sees it one way, and claims EVERYTHING about their man is good...anyone who doesn't agree is a moron, etc. And...THE OTHER SIDE...feels just as adamant the other way. We had 8 years of the Dems slamming Bush. Now stay tuned...for x number of years of the Pubs slamming Obama. there apprears to be no middle ground. SO WHY GO THERE?

why not concentrate on the things we DO HAVE IN COMMON. ie....the Valk.........and then we can limit our pitiful arguments with each other to "oh, he's a Trailer Queen...death to him"...."oh, he's gone dark side, what on earth was he thinking?" ...." you run brand x oil in your bike, what are you, a moron?"....etc. hey, still ugly at times...but at least there is SOME middle ground!

Occasionally someone posts something which completely explains why we find ourselves with such a dysfunctional government.

I'm sure that many are impressed that based on the content of this thread you where able to make this conclusion.  I'm sure that the critics who are complaining about folks drawing conclusions based on the ACORN video will now shut up,  clearly you have demonstrated that it takes very little evidence to draw an intelligent conclusion.  But before you grab the crown from Marilyn vos Savant, you might want to take a look at the difference in meaning of EXCEPT vs. ACCEPT.

This thread had nothing to do with "his" speech to school children...I am assuming that you are referring to President Obama's recent address to the nations school children.  As far as Obama's speech to the school children, I completely agree that it was excellent, as a matter of fact in a thread during the past couple of weeks I stated that I thought it was an excellent gesture on the part of the president.  This thread dealt with an activist elementary teacher in New Jersey having her classroom sing songs praising Obama, a song very similar to one in reference to Jesus Christ.  I appreciate and respect folks who challenge me on my opinions, however I do expect that they understand the facts that they are calling me on.  It becomes clear to me that you did not take time to understand what the thread was about in the first place.

Bonzo for what its worth, I am of the belief that even if ones opinions are in the minority, if they are based on sound reasoning they need to be heard!  Anyway your a big guy, you look like you could handle yourself quite well even if you are in the minority!
