I had the carbs off chasing a problem that wasnt there. When I reinstalled them, and started the bike I now have fuel running out of what I believe are the two overflow lines that are secured by the bracket that crosses from one carb bank to the other. Whats happening to cause this, any help would be muchly appreciated.

I am the last one to know really what is going on, the carbs are one thing I haven't had the need to play with. But I do read a little on what is posted.

But no one else has posted yet. So I'm sure I'll be corrected.

Do you have the service manual yet?

I think that is the overflow tubes, and therefore the float valves are not sealing. You need to replace those needles.

and if thats the case, you have one of the two conditions needed for hydrolock.  I'd check that as soon as I could (and would probably leave the girl parked until I did)

I second the float valves not seating.  Even a piece of crud in the seat can cause this to happen.  Lots of work on a valk for a small problem.  I'm sure that if I keep this bike long enough I will have to eventually pull the carbs.  That will be the single, only day that I will miss Harley.

Fired her up this morning with no issues. Confident the needles were hung up becuse they were dry. Once they sat in fuel , the problem disappeared. Now, if you are wondering why they got dried out, well thats another story.

Get into the habit of shutting off your fuel valve, when you put her to bed after a ride. A bit of peace of mind.
