Bernie and I went on Friday. We got up there early and parked at the Weirs by 8:45. Lot's of spaces available at that time. By 9:30/10:00 it was pretty packed.
As usual we strolled the Weirs and the vendor area across route 3 and shopped. I only took one picture of bikes entering the Weirs. Bernie took a couple on his iPhone.
Since we were both up very early, we were ready of an early lunch and headed to the Roadhouse around 11:30. I bought a beer from one of the young ladies and yes she was mighty fine. After about ten minutes another young lady came out to take her place. That's when it got interesting.
When she was walking towards the beer station, Bernie and I thought she looked naked. We saw pierced nipples and an landing strip right were you would expect it. This of course led to confusion because the young ladies are not allowed to walk around naked in the Roadhouse. As she got closer to us, Bernie said, "Tony, I think she's got body painted" because we could see what looked like a thong bottom and bikini-style top. But again, that would mean she was naked.
She gets to her beer vendor stand and she's probably no more from 12 feet away from us two goofballs gawking at her. In the meantime, she's got guys lining up to buy beer and take pictures. The other ladies were not getting many customers.
We finally figured out that she was wearing a thong bottom and a bikini top. The bottom had a print of the landing strip and the top had a print of pierced nipples right where they should be. In particular the piercings looked very real and we really had to look hard to figure it out. She was wearing a thong so her booty was free and was fine. Bernie did snap a picture of her on his iPhone.
Bernie was scrolling through past Laconia pics on his iPhone and we saw a picture of Matt taken with the same young lady 2 to 3 years ago. She was more appropriate clothed in that picture.
After the fun at the Roadhouse, we headed back to our bikes and people watched. A Christian Motorcycle rider had parked next to us when we arrived and happened to come back to his bike while we were people watching. He was friendly and I was wondering when he would start evangelizing. He did eventually get around to it. He asked us if we wanted him to bless our bikes. Bernie said "No" with a scowl. I said OK. I could use all the help I can get. So he blessed me and my "friend" aka Bernie during the blessing and gave me a "You've been Blessed in 2016" sticker. He asked Bernie if he wanted one. Bernie said he was "all set". The sticker is on the underside of one of my saddle bag lids.
By about 2:00 PM we had done just about all there was to do in the Weirs area. Bernie headed home to jump in his pool (was a hot day) and I headed down to the NH Speedway in Loudon to check out the vendor area there. It was a small. The AMA had a tent. I entered a contest to win a Zero Electric MC and picked up a few AMA trinkets. From Loudon I took the long way around and got home at about 7:00 PM. It was great to spend a nice long day on the bike. I haven't had many of those this season.
Since I didn't really take any pics, here's a few from 2010 that capture the spirit of what Laconia can sometimes be. It was relatively tame this year. Probably had something to do with Terry not being there. Let's hope for the future.
