I was at a "bike night" last summer (about a year ago) and this old guy rides up on a standard Valkyrie with a windshield and saddle bags.  Some of the guys I was with knew the guy and said "That old geezer will ride your a$$ in the ground".  Apparently he rides that old Valkyrie a whole lot and it had something like 300,000 on it that day.

There's a buddy of mine in the PGR that has a Valkyrie Interstate with way over 100,000 on it.  Not sure exactly what the mileage is but, if I were guessing it would be in the 130,000 miles range.  He kept the Interstate and bought an 1800 Goldwing.  He still rides the Valkyrie pretty regularly.

My new to me Interstate had 53,000 when I bought it three weeks ago.  It has 57,000 now and has been back and forth to Tennessee twice in two weeks (I'm lovin this bike).

Who here has the highest mileage Valkyrie?  What's the highest mileage Valkyrie you have personally seen?

A better place for this discussion is in the General forum, not the Tech sec.

But this is what you are looking for.

That thread/post is probably the most epic post in all of motorcycle forum history when you think about it...

There are maybe a couple of hundred bike forums on the internet. How many have a thread like that one? With those miles? Very few. Any? I don't know...

Sure, there are some epic long haul BMW and Triumph guys with wicked mileage. But those are entire makes with many models. Triumph is the oldest production bike maker in the world... they have more decades in the mix. Then there's the French guy who has gone around the globe twice on a Ural, which skews the Ural bell curve radically to the right  uglystupid2

That thread is what made me fall in love with the Valkyrie before I even owned one.

I have ridden (almost) all the BMW and Triumphs. A bunch of Harleys. Yamaha. 40 years of riding everything I can... and ...

The Valkyrie is simply the best handling, smoothest and most remarkable motorcycle when it comes to super large cruiser/touring bikes with old-school soul.

It's also the easiest bike I've ever owned to work on. I'm no mechanic, but I actually feel I can do almost anything to my Valk myself.

So... that old guy at the 'bike night'... he knew something  cooldude

Thanks for the link.  I had over 100,000 on my Electraglide but, the engine only has 40,000 (Factory refurb).  The biggest problem I had with long distance with that bike was breaking down away from home.  It never broke down at my house.  Always out on the road.  By the time I got the Valkyrie I had all the bugs worked out of it.
