I know they're discontinued, but I am putting on a pair they rebuilt some years ago.
The spring rate is 1360 140/190
Does anyone recall if this would be Heavy Duty or Standard Duty springs?
They are closed until Monday.
Thanks in advance.

Can't help, don't know the rate. But, I'm one that uses the STD spring for 2 up. But I think most folks get the heavy springs.

I changed my springs to 140-200 and am happy with them. They were originally 105-150 which were HD but only for Harleys per Progressive TS. They were light for the Valkyrie - which they say, is not meant for the 444's. But the TS guy acknowledged us Valk riders are going to adapt them anyway. They have a chart for the springs on their web site.

Thanks guys. My first pair of new heavy duty 440s for interstate (from 2005) leaked down to springs only lately (on one side). After wiping off all the crud, I found them marked 120/170, so the rebuilt 440s I have been holding for just such an occasion are even stiffer yet at 140/190 (first time mounted).
I'm sure my prostate (and other boy parts) will appreciate it. (always solo)
Progressive owes me a lifetime warranty on new 440s with receipt, so I will be calling them and asking if I get new 444s or at least some kind of credit. (as 440s are discontinued now a couple years).
The new 440s I put on the supervalk about seven years ago are still doing fine, except the chrome is flaked off all over them. The new 444s will go on the SV, and if I can find the 2d new receipt, I'll have another pair to stick back in the parts bin.
Three sets of these shocks is more than a normal house payment. (whatever normal is)

I have installed Progressive 444's on my GL1500CT (Tourer) with HD Springs, 12.5" (1/2 inch shorter than stock) and I love them. Kinda on the stiff side when I'm one up, they float like a dream two-up. I'm 5' 11", and 185lbs wet.
Enjoy,
-Bob

Can you give me the 444 part number you got? I'll want 13s, but this will get me in the ballpark.

Your spring for 13" should be 03-1318-20B/30 in black or chrome. That's 140/200, a good spring for me anyway, at 270# and occasional co-rider 135# to 200. Also tow a heavy trailer now, works well. You can get heavier and lighter. The other choices have to do with travel and comp. length parameters. Don't recall what mine is. Best to call them maybe? Thank you Mark.
I'm close to 200, and this will be for a supervalk IS with no trunk, rear seat, pegs, passenger (ever) or trailer, so I think I will need to get closer to Std duty than H duty springs.
