Got the cover today so of course I had to put it on and it fit perfectly. Its a nicely made piece with everything lining up like its supposed to and the finish is good. There is one criticism is that the chrome scratches fairly easily. But it looks good on even though I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. A bit of a pain to put on but nothing serious. The other thing is there is a coating on the inside of the engine. It looks like its painted with black spotted paint but what I think it is, is the coating for the oil not to stick to the aluminum inside of the engine. Its very slick and smooth even though it doesn't look it. Just thought I would report back to anyone who was interested. All in all a 8 out of 10 and for the price its hard to beat. I may take the original cover and have it chromed. Heck its going to cost more to have that done than it did to buy this. .JPG) .JPG)

@Robert, I ordered one because it's cheap indeed. I clean the bike roughly once a week, my grey OEM cover is never extra-clean (I should have to use WD40 to wipe away the tar stains) but the cleaning doesnt last more than 10 mn. I hope that this new cover is self-cleaning If not, I'll sell the cover to any Winger, they seem to be hardcore fans of shiny stuff

Adrian its made of plastic, Just kidding its some kind of metal, from China . Thanks guys, You know when you make a change and its different and your really not sure then it kind of grows on you thats this cover. I have come to really like it, there is an aftermarket cover and its just a stick on flat metal cover. I did not want that because I like the looks of the bolts and the OEM look. By the way the inside of our engines are as pretty as the outside, its like someone painted and decorated in steam punk style with all the gears and chains there. I was really surprised at the new high tech coating on it. Wish I had taken a picture of it. Now I know how my wife feels when she redecorates the house and tells her friends with pics Ledany it takes awhile to ship just to let you know mine took about 3 weeks to get. Emir you must big like the biggest and fastest bike there. As for the radiator covers you may be able to use the ones for the wing but I read where there is something different about the fit of them. As the wing radiators are a bit different than ours.

COVER 11524-MCA-010 I didn't use a gasket but used silicon sealer but I listed the gasket up above. Its not hard at all to install but a bit picky on how its done. The front cover is on dowels on the engine and even with all the bolts out has to be pried off. I opened the center hole and with a screw driver pried at an angle and the cover came off easily. The ignition pickup is bolted to the cover and the wire goes under the front upper cover which I would remove to make things easier. There is not much clearance to the front fender so either a cover on the back half or remove it. Other than those tips its straight forward and like I said the cover scratches pretty easy. A little oil may come out nothing to get excited about though.

If you looked at the parts fiche that I included in the pic you will see number 5 that is the gasket (joint d'étanchéité) and the cover number 4, this cover is part of and replaces (remplacé) the original cover on the bike. I didn't want the cover taped (enregistrée) on which is the reason yours is cheaper and I didn't like the flat chromed look and wanted the accent of the bolts. Your cover is what all the Goldwing guys get because its smooth and chrome and doesn't have that engine or mechanical look to it. I did not want to lose that kind of look on this bike because its like looking at an engine or anything mechanical and seeing the bolts. Just peel and stick! The strong adhesive is specially designed for high temperatures. A chrome version of the stock screw-in cap is included in the Chrome Timing Chain Cover Set or is available separately. .jpg)

I remembered seeing the pic of yours in black and and thought it complemented the accents on the bike. My accents were chrome and so I got the chrome to go along with them. Because you powder coated yours it started me thinking about this, I wish you would stop doing that. This is the second time I had to go out and do something because I liked the things you did on your bike. Thanks by the way.

That sure looks great. I had alot of chrome on my 98 Std. But spent alot of time cleaning it to..... Now with the 1832 I spend more time riding and when needed just give it a pressure wash and it only takes like afew mins to wipe down the tank and mufflers and it ready to ride.

Thanks a lot Robert ! In fact I was not that worried (and to tell the truth for me there's no big difference between 20 and 41 €, considering all the €€ I throw away on various things ). As usual, the automatic translation is really funny, only a madman could understand what it says Woodfred is right, the cleaning is something I'm afraid of, for example I pity the guys with their Suzie GSX 1400, white rims

Robert, I got the chinese cover at last. It was not their fault, they sent the cover immediately and it arrived in Paris a week later !! The fault comes from the french postal service, it seems they don't read chinese even when it is correctly written in roman alphabet I won't install it myself because there's a heatwave here these days and the lack of gasket makes me nervous (15 €) . I'll go on thursday to my usual dealer and ask him to fix it and change the clutch and brake fluids (2 years already, end of the warranty). Later on, I'll change the oil in the shaft, surprisingly you have to remove the right muffler but then I'll be able to check the inside (it seems the mufflers in France are slightly different). I intend to ride to Berlin pretty soon and dazzle everyone on the road with the chrome cover, no need of fog lights !

The rear end oil does not need to have the muffler removed to change, at least here in the US. Its accessible but tight to get to. I have changed mine a few times and takes all of 5 minutes. If you are going to use a gasket I would call them and make sure they have it in stock since its not a common item. If they don't have it I'm sure someone will if you call around and have it with the cover. You would hate to have them hold your bike for a gasket. When I took mine off the gasket stuck to the cover and would not come off. I used sealer and its working fine but the recommended is use the gasket.
