I'm considering buying a Leesure Lite tent trailer. Total weight of the trailer is 260 Lbs and with what I will pack in it should still be under 300 Lbs. I'm curious to hear from those who tow a trailer how significant an effect it has on your mileage. Thanks for any feedback.

My trailer is only a hundred pounds. The most I've had in it is another hundred. I probably lose 4 mpg with that.

I use to tow a Roll-a-Home tent trailer. Maybe 400 lbs loaded. I was lucky to get 28 MPG at 65 MPH.

Towed a Timeout popup camper to Inzane, 1600 miles and back.  Kept speeds down for safety, max about 70.  Heavy crosswinds, tailwinds, headwinds.  High temps destroyed mileage.  Trailer with camping gear, clothes etc. for sure 600 lbs, up to 700, didn't weigh it.  Boxy shape.  Tire Austone Taxi kept rpm's down typically max 3100, much at 2600.  Mileage ranged from a minimum of 18 to a max of 30. Most of the time it was around 22.  Mileage normally at 34.  Was the same consistently on the high-speed ride to/from GOTF, most of it at 80 actual, sans trailer. The belly tank was a necessity with the trailer. Used fuel at such a rate the Dan-Marc was too restrictive; had fuel starvation issues.  Replaced it with a larger solenoid on return.

This is a big camper, the largest available for motorcycle towing:

Don't know about the biggest, but the Aspen Ambassador weighs in at over 500lbs empty; I towed it to the Iron Horse in NC, at a loaded weight of about 650lbs. Best mileage was 28mpg, in cross-winds through IL, that dropped as low as 24.

With 'cabin' added, at campsite:

Most of our gear was in a HF tow-behind, to minimize what I had to pull. Pulled it with all our gear once, and it weighed in at around 760lbs, by the truck scales near us.
