I am planning a future ride to the Wahoo Eatery in Willmington VT and wondering how RT112 is from 90 up to RT9.

Also has anyone heard from Russ ?? it's been a long time.

Came out of Pittsfield and took 8 to 112 north to Rte 2. There is a bridge they are working on that is down to one lane with a traffic light. Didn't hit much traffic at all all the way to Rte 2. Seemed like a nice road but I was in the car.
Let me know what you think about the Wahoo. Been wanting to go there for years and just never seem to have the time when we go by.
Have fun buddy, I'll be in Rangeley, Maine living on porch time

Was just there last Sunday.  112 is a great road except for just before rt 9 in Ma. between Worthington and Cummington.  Gets a little chopy there, but not bad and not long.

If you're thinking of taking Rt 7 out of Danbury, check out rt 23 east out of Great Barrington, MA, over to rt 20 west to Russell.  Head on 20 till the beginning of 112 in Huntington.

Rt 23 was newly paved a couple of years ago and is also a great bike road.

Hope you get this before you leave for your ride dan-bury.......
Some where near the 'bridge under construction' Wally mentioned,
this thing pops out of no where and will proposition unsuspecting riders. Best to maintain a speed
of 40 / 45 with cruise control and swing a Louisville Slugger.....
Just read about it on the internet, so must be valid !!!   crazy2

It has been years, but the ex-wife and I used to ride up to Wahoo all the time. She loved their Blue Cheese Burgers.  It will be in a couple weeks but I put up a post if anyone wants to meet...

Thanks for the info, I will probably run up RT8 to 20 to 112.  I really enjoy rt8 above Winsted.
And thanks for the 23 info also as that may be the return route.

Thanks for the warning, my first thought was to try to run it over but those spikes may be rough on my tires!! I'll heed your warning and try to stay clear.

Surprised you and Kathy didn't have an encounter with this on your ride Wally...
It must have been pre-occupied with someone else, or you were zipping along
at a high rate of speed !!!

See the girth on the neck !!!!  Just imaging the thickness of the remaining  Shocked  !!!
The make-up alone would cause a back wheel slide worse than a road snake.....

Well this Sunday is not going to work for me but I am still planning the ride. I rode up there last weed to check a few roads and make sure the "Wahoo" food was as good as I remembered, and yup still is.

I just can't pull it off this Sunday.

Also has anyone heard from Russ ?? it's been a long time.

A while back Russ sold his house up in MA to his son Brian and moved down here to Manchester in an apartment by Evergreen Walk.  About 6 months back someone kicked in his front door and robbed his place while he was out so he decided Manchester wasn't the place he wanted to be.  He's now in West Hartford with his girlfriend and working too many hours just like the rest of us.  His riding is slowing down a bit but he's alive and well.  When I talk with him I'll mention that you had asked about him.
