Will an I/S seat fit on my Std? My seat is JUNK, I think the guy before me tried to do the mod to give it the "crotch pocket" and screwed the pooch on it. End result, he took out 50% of the foam, and it's lumpy.  uglystupid2

It will fit but you will have a larger gap between the seat and the tank.

You may also have to change over the rear seat mount from the Std seat to the IS seat and use the top fender bolt to hole the seat in place.

I happen to have both in the driveway right now, so here you go:

i/s seat on i/s

solo seat on standard

i/s seat on standard (may need rear strap installed to really hold firmly)

i/s seat on standard - gap detail

Why not try to get some memory foam and add some padding back in the way you want it?  Couldn't be much worse than what it is now right?   Or you could always spend a half a grand on some aftermarket seats (and if you do, I recommend Ultimates hands down).

I've been thinking about doing both, and while I'm at it, I figure I could put a gel pad in the back for The Boss. I want to get them re-covered a different color (tan) anyways. I'll wait till the snow flies to rip into anything tho. Has anyone done a buildup of their seat before?
