Trying to locate a pair of these chrome grab rails and haven't been able to get a response from Scotts Motorcycle in Gardendale Alabama.

Need them shipped to Ontario Canada if anyone has a pair they are not using

http://www.scottsmotorcycle.com/valkarie.htm

This is the web page they are on ... scroll down to > valkyrie chrome grab rails

Please let me know if you have some you are willing to part with and how much.

Thanks

Tried those ... wife is short ( 5'3" ) ... handles ended up too far forward, too low and too tight to seat ( Mustang ) ... that's why I want to try these others
Thanks for the input ... might work for others

Which way did you install them?

That's a Mustang rear seat.

Plenty of room to grab them and the OEM bag covers just clear.

Can't help with the too low part.

Tried them both ways ... pointed forward and back ... when back ... the speaker pods on backrest ( Interstate ) got in way to reach down and either direction they were just too low for her to reach comfortably.

Looks like we have a different set enroute which will hopefully work for her.

Again ... this forum is great ... love the "practical" advice !

So these do work on the IS model? I followed the link, and it said not for the IS.

I have the Rivco, but haven't actually tried to mount them, but they are for the Std/Tourer with a back rest to mount to.

Apparently ... after few forum conversations with other I/S owners ... because our sidebags aren't on a fixed hinge at the front ... coming off to the sides .. they work.

Might be little awkward getting larger straight items into those bags .. but supposed to work ... I have bought a pair from our classified section .. few weeks to deliver from U.S to Canada ( if our snail mail doesn't go on strike ! ) Will post how they work out then.

Yes, they work on the Interstate as the bags oen on the side. They will also work on a standard with leather bags but not a tourer with hard bags.

Well I can't complain about postal service in U.S. or Canada !

I bought these from someone on our classified section.

They were mailed from Illinois on Monday and arrived at my door ( Peterborough, Ontario, Canada ) on Friday morning !!!

As promised here are some pictures which show that they went on easily, used the existing bolts and spacers on the Interstate.

These ones come up higher, are thicker and come out further than the last type I tried ( see above ).  Absolutely no interference with opening the side bags.

Hopefully a test run tomorrow will see if the "boss" likes them ... an initial sit on the bike seemed like they were in correct position for her.

Just a FYI, I bought the last set the other day. Just waiting for delivery now. No pictures, so it was nice to see what you did get, and mounted on the bike too. This should help me get the bike up on the center stand.

Just for your info  ... I have the Rivco center stand on mine .. I had a handle that came with it mounted on the left side to help rock it up onto stand.  That handle had to come off .... interfered with these ... just so you know in advance.  Haven't tried using these to get it up on center stand yet.

I also carry a small 6 x 6 piece of 1/2" ply in my side bag that I roll back tire onto sometimes ( when it just won't go up easy onto center stand ) and that makes the lift up real easy ... also use it when using side stand on dirt / gravel.

I haven't even unwrapped the Rivco grab rail yet. I saw how it mounts, and it needs a rear mount, which is shown as the back rest bracket on a std/T model. No where to mount it, unless you drill into the fender rail. But then I don't think you have enough room to even grab it.

I've a CT, so it is quit hard to get the center stand up. Will be figuring out how high I need that board to be, to make it easier to get it onto the stand.

had to word these sentences right, so I wouldn't have to worry about the jokers and getting it up and wood  Roll Eyes
