Glancing at the odometer...I have noticed over 6400 miles on her already in just a bit over a year. This is in a region mind you that only allows a good 6 months of riding and some marginal 2mos of riding... I know there are others whom live in my same area that have far more.. Then I have noticed whenever I see used bikes for sale...some 5 years old or more, only have barely 3K on them! What does this say about this bike and the guys who buy and ride them?

Adrian,
There are riders, and there are posers. A lot of people just buy a bike to do bar hopping, and to be seen on a bike. Then there are those like us that ride for the enjoyment :cool dude:

Being a "biker" is a lot of things. Mileage can be an indicator. But so can other things, but is mostly it is an attitude.
If when you need or want to go somewhere, your first consideration is how to ride the bike instead of the car or truck, "you may be a biker".
I think that is the first true indicator.

Agreed, I only have 3600 miles on my bike and have had it for more than a year. I take it every chance I can but I live in Utah where we have about 7 months where the weather allows us to ride, add in that my wife can't ride very often it forces me to use my car more then I want but on occasion I get to go up the mountains and let my Valk off the chain and for me that's when I really consider myself a biker.

Ya Paul you are rite....just changed oil n filter for the 4th time, thats at 16, 500 miles, and thats in north central US. Glad you finally got a good long ride in.....dont know if I will get a week trip this year or not? Money is alittle (Tight) weekend rides are still doable, we had 10 bikes out on the last ride a few weeks ago, 3 Harley trikes, 2 Dresser Harlies, my 2014 Valkyrie, 1998 Valkyrie, 1997 Valkyrie, a Honda 1300, and a BMW. Oh by the way, my Daughter has been bugging me for afew years now to get a starter bike for her. Well I found one, A really clean 1981 Yamaha 550 Maxium, good starter bike , now she has to take the rider class, and get her License, then I told her I will ride with her, teach her how, before I let her loose on her own, best thing is the bike was only $450.00, plus a carborator cleaning. Picked up the plates yesterday. Happy safe riding to all......

Just went for a ride in the country this morning. I like the country smells and cool morning air. At my age ,I ride for an hour or a little more. Anna gets concerned if I'm away too long. I have asked Adrian about the windshield on his Valkyrie. I like the looks. Can't decide if I want one or not since I don't do 600 mile rides anymore. As for mileage I have 2500 Km. or approx. 1200 miles since I got my 2014 in June of 2015. Anna broke her femur in May of 2015 and it is still not healed. Not much time to ride but I will try to get out as much as I can.(not a bar hoper or poser) I don't post very often, but read the news here every morning with a second coffee. Keep the posts coming. A little info on Anna and I. We had a 2001 Interstate and went to Inzane 3 & 4. While at Inzane 3, there was a quiz to find the newest member. People put up there hand. Finaly I did too. When asked when did we join I replied yesterday. I still have the plaque I was given.

yup, i'm loving it.... what a fantastic machine. since i bought her in may 2015, i've put on over 8,100 miles (13,000km). something tells me this gal will handle 100,000+ miles under her with very little problems. hope fortune smiles upon me to test that idea out. the Lord willin'

With InZane miles, I put the Pirelli Angle GT past the mileage I got on the Michelin PR4 on the back, so I have a new favorite tire.
My next tire, though, will be the $75 on-sale Avon I got a few months ago... has anyone tried that tire yet? I know a few of us have gotten it.

put on 222 miles today in the mountains...what a beauty day. Best part about it is that I filled up when I left my house, and still have 1//4 of gas left!!! gotta love the premium alcohol free gasoline in this beautifully engineered ride!

You too have seen the obvious advantage to pure gasoline...NOT that alcohol mixed dung. And to think there are those out there who own this bike, or any bike for that matter, who have yet to experience the difference in engine performance. The Valk hauls ass with that stuff and yet STILL gets awesome mileage...

I've been alternating between two bikes, my 2014 Valk and a 2015 Indian Scout - seems like commuting to work is what I do mostly. No time for those big rides you folks do - kind of makes me envious in a good way and I never seems to need my drink holder. I only use ethanol free gas in my motors - I feel ethanol is abusive to the rubber parts. This Valk is an amazing machine - probably the best kept secret of sorts in the motorcycle world! Wish I had two things though = self cancelling blinker and a 6th gear. I have ordered some fleetliner saddle bags... long wait loving my corbin two up tour saddle with the gunfighter back rest. Are the fog lights worth while?

Are the fog lights worth while? How many miles to work? As for the lights yes they make being seen much better and they do illuminate the road better also. I have the SoCal lights and keep the running lights on for visibility. When it gets dark out and turn on the running lights the angle helps to see the road better and see if there is something in the road because of the low angle of the light. The lights have a flat beam and while they do not blind the oncoming cars they get their attention by occasionally flashing them on bumps or turns.
