I installed the Deuce style risers on my 1997 Tourer and re-routed the throttle cables behind the triple tree.  I have tried multiple adjustments and positions with properly lubed cables and can get the throttle return great, except at full right lock. This is caused by the decreased radius which occurs at full right lock and results in a binding issue.  The cable binds as it pushes against the neck and tree.

I have searched and found many who had the same issue and found two options:

1. Purchase 3-4" longer cables and return them to the outside of the tripe trees as they were in the stock position.

2. Purchase an Interstate throttle housing which brings the cables into the housing through the bottom.

My question is,  with the Interstate housing how are the cables routed?

There are benefits of both options. New cables with cable replacement or new switch gear with an Interstate Housing.  I just want to see if anyone has solved this binding issue with a new Interstate housing and how were the cables routed?

Thank you for your time and help

I have the Aeromach risers, and I don't know how their pull back compares to the deuce risers, but I put an IS housing on and now I can route the cables as they originally were routed.

I have deuce risers and an interstate throttle housing and the cables route exactly as they did before the change.

When I installed LaMont's risers I didn't know about the IS housing, maybe the IS hadn't been invented yet as it was long ago.
But I couldn't the cables routed so that I liked it, so, I installed 2" longer cables and all has been good.
Its easy to go too long with cables and end up with similar troubles as with short ones.

Thank you for the responses.  I took a break and after a fresh start was able to make some adjustments in the cable bends and secure their position.  Things work pretty good but I think I will buy an Interstate housing and put the cables back as they were.
