front fork rebound forks dont compress

Shouldn't the forks compress a little when weight is applied to the front by putting weight on the handlebars??I weigh about 200 and the forks do not compress when I put my weight on the bars with front brake locked..am I wrong??I just noticed this so it is a recent thing.??Thanks for any info.

Yes,they should.If you roll a few feet and grab the brake they should compress quite a bit.
