Here's where I am at the moment. Although it doesn't look like it, there's about 7" road clearance at the headers. When I think of what I had when I started down this road March, 2013, this is a major improvement. As you can see, painting and upholstery are yet to be accomplished but should make a nice little Bobber for whomever. The exhaust still needs to be refined and hung before clamping it down, maybe this week. If I ship the fenders and side covers out to my friend in Ft. Worth for painting, I'll most likely have the front fender cut down to match the profile of the rear.

A simple profile shot.

This is what I cut off the back of the frame, the fender was hitting it when I bounced on the seat. At this point I plan to weld a cross piece on there and mount an LED bar for additional run/brake visibility.

My aftermarket gauge, has everything except oil and temp. The temp I have covered, still pondering the oil pressure indicator.

Waiting on some neat looking turn/run lights for the front, coming form KungFuie Louie in China. Once those are mounted and wired in, I'll mount the headlight and "try" to stuff all that mess in the bucket.

Looking good John, now you only have to stuff 5 lbs of wire in a 2 lb headlight bucket.  laugh

Looks good John. I think cutting down the front fender will balance the look of the bike.

Bill, that's what I'm wondering about. Maybe a big hammer to force it all in.  Grin  I also have an Adjure headlight bucket that is much deeper/longer and would be easier to stuff all that crap in. But, since it's a nice chrome unit I wondering if it would look like a diamond in a goat's butt. Plus, I'd have to design a mount for it. Time will tell.

Nice looking project! My father has an old GL1000 that is a million pieces that I might try and snag. He lost interest when he picked up a VTX 1300. I'm digging the look of these older classics, and your photo makes the mind wander a bit with ideas!

I also plan to leave the Valkyrie logo on the side of the tank just to confuse people, at least for now.

Pappy, I'm not sure. I probably fit the "old goat" side of it so must just be an ordinary "goat" this time. I guess we'll all know what my Texas buddy was talking about if I have to use the larger Adjure bucket. A word of advice....if you're looking for the Adjure website, be sure to look for Adjureinc.com, 'cuz if you just type in Adjure.com you get a rather "revealing" website. It's the one some people use that live down in Lake Flacid!   2funny

Yeah....make me feel real good now. I'm more than twice as old as the bike, it's only 32. At times we run about the same....huff and puff, leak, backfire. Come to think of it, the bike doesn't do that, so.......  Grin
