Feel a bit silly asking this, but I have lucked into a set of OEM Tourer bags, but need to have the bases painted (the lids are nice and black, as needed). I pulled the lids and hinges, and got the "Tourer" emblems off with no problem, but I cannot see how the reflectors are attached. There are no through holes and the heat gun and dental floss (or fishing line) don't seem to work on the reflectors.
Could anyone please throw me a bone and let me in on the secret?
Thanks in advance!

The OEM hard bags for these bikes use double sided tape. The dental floss should work.

They do have tape, there just hard to take off. When I did mine, I installed led lights instead. They are cheap and look good. I connected mine for packing and flasher. I did install yellow ones in the front.

Just a FYI. If you plan on repainting , tourer bags have a seam that will not hold paint properly. I have done several and filled the seams. I used a dull hacksaw blade to clean out the seams until I was pulling out black (abs) plastic. I then filled the seams with ( only use ) black ABS plastic glue. If the hardware store does not stock it , have it ordered and get the small can. Get two if you think you will need it , but one can did four bags and the glue hardened in the can before I was able to use it again (about a month). Only black plastic ABS glue. I am sure someone on this board will challenge this and recommend JB weld , but it will not bond properly and is harder to work with. Fill the seam and let dry. I used painters tape on both sides of the seam. Do the cleaning and filling before sanding for paint. Rough sand the glue and fill again. You can use the glue fill and sand it to apply the primer (after sanding the bags). I also re-glued the inside of the bag seams after cleaning just to avoid cracking.

Flash; where did you get the red & amber LED lights? I've been looking for months trying to find an LED replacement to the reflectors.
Help!

Try spraying WD40 and letting it penetrate between the saddlebag and reflector, then work the floss or fishing line between the two. Once it starts the WD40 will help loosen or soften the tape and it will come off Hope this works for you as well as it did for me, also you can use the WD40 to remove any tape that will remain on saddlebag. Good luck Steve

Thanks for the help, guys. Basically, when I heard that it's just tape, I "manned up" and heated the thing up a little more and fishing line cut through it. Bags are out for paint. Pretty stoked. Got OEM bags and rails from trike takeoffs. These: Are going here:

Funny you should weigh in, BH! I looked long and hard at your paint scheme. In the end, I decided that a Bumblebee Tourer is already unusual. The three people I meet on the road who will actually know that will appreciate the stock paint pattern on a bike Honda never made.
Also, I'm taking "da prez"'s advice about filling the seam. The fellow is balking at it concerned about cracking, but I actually cut and pasted his post to him. He should be able to do it as it's a shop that does lots of bikes and classic muscle cars here in Phoenix.
I've had the Mustang seat for a while, a nice addition. I will be posting finished pics once I have it together!
