I read a post last week about LED 194 bulbs for neutral that show up better in bright sun. I the 194 size does not fit. Does anyone know the correct size in LED or brighter regular bulb?

Yep their a little snug but went in. Might try the wiggle technique.  Went and measured the bulb and the max. OD is about 33/64" (15mm/.515). One could carefully ream the opening by hand with 33/64" drill or reamer which wouldn't effect the mounting whatsoever.

They fit, it's just a tight fit; I'm running them in my standard. Oh, and they're worth the trouble in my opinion.

I don't see how a 194 led will fit in the rubber socket. My bulb matched to a number 34 and NAPA said that size is not make in led. I also installed 1174 LED's in front turn/running lights. They work but flash much faster than stock, like a strobe light.

I got the LEDs recommended here and the wedge/base is at least twice the size of the socket in the bike. I don't get it. I have a '97 tourer. Honda parts says it takes a T6.5 wedge, 12v 3W. Part number 34908-KM1-671. I wonder if something like this would work - https://www.ledlight.com/t6.5-wedge-1-led-round-12-volt.aspx

I have 194 bulbs in my valk gauges  do you have an interstate? they have different gauges and possibly use different bulbs

There is something about these bulb/LED indicator parts that is different by year or model that I haven't figured out yet, but I will.  You did see the pic I posted eariier right?

disregard above post. the gauge lights are 194 bulbs not sure about indicator lights. I think others have made the same mistake and that may be what has lead to the confusion of bulbs

 this is what I changed not the indicator lights in the headlight. You could be right. The Ops intent (and mine too) was to replace the indicator bulbs in the headlight bucket. I wouldn't normally call the tach and speedo (or guage) bulbs/LEDs indicator lights...maybe backlights? Turn signal indicator, neutral indicator, high beam indicator.  They are tiny bulbs in a standard and tourer. The 194's are massive in comparison. The good news is now that I know what is being talked about with regard to the 194's, I now have a use for the (2) of them that I thought were trash....new tach and speedo backlights.

That is misinformation as well. You can run an (headlight bucket) LED indicator for turn signals no problem. The issue comes into play when you start putting LED turn signals or a digital Signalminder or flasher on the bike, then you need to run a diode kit (or a home brewed diode setup with radio shack diodes) on the turn signal indicator circuit. Below is a good thread on the subject. I plan to do three things. Replace the turn signal indicator with an LED, install a Signalminder, 'and' install a diode kit. A fourth but cosmetic to-do is to tint the inside of the rear amber lenses to red using transparent red testors model paint...candy red. All of this information I got from helpful folks and thread research at this site. Sometime down the road I will replace all of the turn signal (and every other) lights with LEDs. It will be plug any play then because I'd have done these prerequisite steps. The preceding information applies to Valk Standards and Tourers only. As Harry C has mentioned diodes have to used in the turn signal circuit even using a piezo buzzer in the circuit. Sorry Harry on the confusion of the bulb location/use. I just got done ordering the Superbright T74 warm and natural whites. They have the same specs as the 6.5's.

@h13man, no problem I appreciate the help. As I said before it's all good because now I have LEDs for the Speedo and Tac on hand, which were going to be replaced anyway.

So I installed these LEDs in the headlight bucket- https://www.ledlight.com/t6.5-wedge-1-led-round-12-volt.aspxI also installed a home brewed diode kit using Radio Shack diodes. The result is good. The LEDs are much brighter than stock and the diodes are doing their job. Next step is to install the Kisan SignalMinder. Just to have on hand, I also ordered those Ebay LEDs. Slow boat from China, but I'll try them as well when they arrive.

I just put in the 194 B SuperBright SYLVANIA bulb in "BLUE". I'm super stoked and waiting to see how it looks at night.
Remember...1 very small screw in the mileage reset knob and my 03 has a screw on the back side of the speedo housing, close to the headlight housing not the bottom of the speedometer. Speedo housing came right off. Pull (gently) on the rubber light housing and install the new bulb.....nothing. Pulled bulb out spun it 180 and put it back in.....we got light !! Thanks for all the post on this "dim gauge lighting" fix.
