Out of curiosity, I am interested in knowing from other members who have upgraded to bigger main jets.

Does it make sense to go with 105 main jets on the following setup:
 - Cobra pipes (no baffles), slashcut 12 inches.
 - 38 slow jets, 100 main jets, 2 turns on the a/f screws.
 - dynojet needles on 3rd notch.
 - K&N air filter, no pre-filter
 - IS ICM and IS carb springs.
 - ECT Mod.
 - Desmogged

Absolutely no popping or backfiring at any RPM's. Haven't experienced any flat spots at all, except around the 90-95 mph I kinda get a feeling that something is amiss.

Appreciate all your input.

I have 110's and would have gone to 115 or 120 but it was much better than stock and I didn't want to put in the effort. I have done a airbox mod which involves taking out the base plate on the Intake. The Dyno jet needles, I dont have to much experience with but some jet kits make it too rich at the mid throttle and do nothing for top end.

I leaned out mid range which is cruising and went richer on top which you are never in unless you are on it. This way you get the best mileage and the best top end you can get. I think Black Duck went to 125's on his. Simple needles does not qualify for a jet kit in my book. It takes all the jets to really set these up correctly. Like the 38's at idle should be included along with top end jets. I dont remember the kit I used but it included all this and a bit more. If you are interested I will look for the name.

Wanted to add this I did this because at wide open I felt there was something more available, especially when I hit 3/4 throttle and it seemed almost stronger.

I just posted my dyno run with 4 gas.
I had 120s and it was pig rich off the scale at 14 CO.
I have major air box mods and viking exhaust.
The operator a former NHRA drag racing champion said I was losing at least 10 HP being that rich and due to it being a big engine will tend to tolerate rich jetting by not falling on its face.
put 112s in and runs much much better.
after I put my ported heads with the R1 cams on it will be back on the dyno.
these bikes don't need big jets.

I just recently posted jetting and tuning of cobra pipes by FactoryPro.

if u don't have air box mods the MJs are fine.

If you are really looking for improvement, the best modification would be all stock configuration, and Dial-A-Jet kits on each carburetor. Results that would be noticeably improved.
