Rode a forest road today on my KLR 650 that I should NOT have been on by myself.

Nimblewill Gap, GA

A road eminently suitable for light dirt bikes and rock hoppers. The road I was on would have been too much for my Tahoe and I've taken it on some pretty foul dirt roads.

These photos DO NOT in any way fully illustrate the condition of the dirt road.

That washed out center is about 3 feet deep.

I made it through with a lot of luck and thanks to untold hours of slow riding practise.

On to T.W.O. for a big ass burger and some nice old bikes.

I rode one of these, Gpz 550 ,for about 30,000 miles as a motorcycle messenger in London. Didn't have the ugly stepped seat.

Thought you mentioned a road. All I saw was a washed out gully!!   Wink Roll Eyes
Bet that made for an interesting ride.

Britman, is that the road that goes up to Springer Mtn.? If so, it sure has gotten in rough shape. I had a cabin along Nimblewill Creek back in the 70's and the road was fairly decent. I've heard the forest service is letting some of the roads go back to nature.
