If anyone on the thread receives more than one new u-joint in this process, and does not want the extra one, please shoot me a personal message.

Same goes for me.  I used my backup a month ago.

Let alone all the guys hoarding spares are preventing me from riding my bike.  I have not been on 2 wheels in over a month waiting for a replacement.  This sucks

The one I ordered from Southern Honda is marked as "shipped".

Sorry, Willow, I used my spare recently too...

Not sure I understand the main point of this thread. Are folks worried that Honda will stop producing ujoints for Valkyries? (NLA) ? How many parts for the Valks are NLA? I know the 80's Honda bikes have many NLA parts...

A while back, there was a year or so that you couldn't get u-joints. People sat
idle with busted u-joints. The recent "back order" made some of us nervous
that that was about to happen again. There are some parts you can't
get for the Valkyrie - a whole final drive for example - but I bet they'll keep
making u-joints for a while, even if there are periods where there aren't
any... Valkyries use the same u-joint as 1500 wings, Honda's flagship...

OK...

Given the boost in confidence Cheesy generated by the receipt of u-joints by my fellow posters I'm on order for a u-joint and new boot at ProCaliber.

Anticipated shipment date is somewhere Septmber 9-13.

Just try to estimate my confidence in this schedule 2funny  Don't estimate too high - you'd be wrong.

Seriously...I'm running fine and am in no real hurry but BigBF says a u-joint is in my future.  (And, it's a long way to Billings MT Wink)

I hope folks like Paladin are receiving their needed parts. Smiley

Mine shipped today from ProCaliber even though I got an email last week saying that the U-joints were backordered and won't be available till 9/24.

300+ miles on the new drive line and I couldn't be happier.  It really smoothed things out.
New U Joint, Drive Shaft, Pinion Cup, Drive FLange, Drive Dampers, Avon Cobra.
Rides like a new bike now.

Wow - a serious overhaul.  Glad both the bike and you are up and running again, Paladin.

I have a UPS tracking number for my u-joint and boot from Pro-Caliber. cooldude

Perhaps the temporary lack of supply is past and we can all come out from under the bed now Wink

My Ujoint came in on Thursday from Western Honda.

Paid just a little more, but all my parts came in one box from the same place. I did have to wait on the back-order to be filled, added less than a week though. Doing the same work as Paladin, substitute ATT and my drive cushions were still good from an earlier replacement. I documented my pinion cup failure in a thread, 13,600 miles since serviced (bad seal).

I see the post stating that entire final drives are not available. Just curious, but there is a place by me that makes Honda trikes and I remember him advertising for Goldwing final drives for sale. Are the wing and Valk final drives the same or not?

I dont remember the name off hand but the business is/was located in Tremont IL.

Trike places are good places to look for Valkyrie final drives, I've
scored before... call them and ask if they have anything if they
are near you. And 1500 flanges are the same as ours, it is nice
to pick up a good flange for $25 or so...

The first one or two years of 1500 wings had whacky six
fingered flanges though...

The final drive cases have a different bolt pattern to attach to the swingarm.  The internals are the same.  the ring and pinion gears are interchangeable.

Lyle, what were the customs fees on top of what you paid?  Right now Pro Caliber has it at USD125.90, and the boot at 12.18.

Kevin:
I'd ordered a few other items so would think about $35 shipping and another $25 for custom fees.
I've got a new shaft & pinion cup left over if you need it.

Thanks, Lyle.  I'll get in touch if I'm in a pinch.  I'm just wanting to have one to keep on the shelf, or throw in the saddlebag for trips.
