I would like some input on what cruise fellow valkyrie owners are using? I don't want anything you have to rig up, or adapt. I want a install and works type. i was thinking about going with the omni cruise... But curious what others here use.

I use a brakeaway 7cp01 and I love it. Positive engagement, holds throttle very well, easy disengage, and releases when the front brake is just touched..
Fits perfect, turnkey solution.

I just bought a Go Cruise which is very similar to the Omni. Doesn't have the thumb extension but comes in pretty shiny colors Oh, and it's almost 1/2 the price. Tried it first time this weekend, on one of my usual "I hate this town / I'm stir crazy / get me out!" rides (read that as, yet another 11.5 hour / 5 state / 400+ mile one day "jaunt around town"). It works OK once you add enough tension to prevent the grip from rotating through the jaws, which seems more than you thought when you first started out. Anyway, I'd say the best throttle lock totally depends on what grips you have and, therefore, what can fit. Since I have heated grips all the barrel-locking style throttle locks say No can do, and I can't use a bar-end Throttlemeister style for the same reason, so clamp-style it was. If you have chunky grips like Kuryakyn then you need to shop for compatibility, for example. For standard grips, these look really pretty http://www.madcorider.com/cam-lock_honda_cruisers.html

I been using the $32 Go Cruise for several years on a few different bikes, it is anodized aluminum with a thumb screw adjustment for any type grip and comes with a silicon sleeve to add extra grip on certain grips with chrome at ends. I am very happy with its result, it goes on and of the bike in seconds and takes up less than a 1/4 inch of grip space. Here is an link with good pic and info, they are available everywhere including fleebay. https://www.2wheel.com/2wheelride-go-cruise-2-throttle-control.html?

Thank you all, for your views. I thought it out, and would like the breakaway, but, I'm so tired of spending money this summer.... To many home projects and and the bike too.... I ordered the Omni Cruise, as I like the thumb screw location and I think the design is well thought out... I'll write up my view after I receive it, and try it out... Thanks,

Forgive me but I've never seen and used these throttle locks. Is it just mechanical ? No electronic cruise control system ?

I love my Omni-Cruise. it works very well, it's simple and it's made in southern California by a young guy that started in the kid's garage. I met one of the owner at the international motorcycle show in Dallas a couple of years ago.

Check this out [Review: Go-Cruise Motorcycle Throttle Lock - YouTube https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zZCvZvIec_kurl][/url] That's thep polymer one, it fits 7/8-inch bars. For 1-inch bars use the aluminum ones, like the one I have http://www.ebay.com/itm/222223553576It comes in a choice of a few finishes, I picked the two-tone silver/black to match the grips, trim and levers. It does match quite nicely and well made.
