Hey all, I found some old wires and lights from a LED accent system on my IS.
I see they run under the tank. Non of the lights work, and the wires have been cut in various places.
I'm  thinking of taking the tank of and starting from scratch. Im pretty comfortable with the wiring of the LED system.
I've  had my bike for 4 months and haven't taken the tank off  yet.
Ive taken the tanks off my nighthawk, and VTXs before, but for some reason, I'm  a little intimated by the IS tank.
How hard is it to do?
Also any suggestions would be welcome

easy, there are three hoses and two bolts, them are the obvious.

Then there is the secret screw in the center of the fuel switch, you must disconnect that from the petcock or get ready to buy a new one.

then remember your IS has a fuel sending unit.  I usually get a second person to reach in there and disconnect that wire from the sending unit, but Im sure the right blocks of wood and you can get that tank propped up just right so one guy can get that wire unplugged.  Not a big job at all

What Chris said AND run your fuel down to a 1/4 tank or so. TRUST me on this. RIDE SAFE.

On the I/S you will also need to disconnect the fuel sender connection.

Very easy to pull that tank.  The hardest part is getting the fuel lines disconnected and reconnected and that may not be bad.  My bike has some extra chrome that makes the job more of a chore.
