So how do you guys keep some organization around your cleaning/washing/waxing products ?  My gas can has it's own rag, the brake fluid tool has a rag, wheel rag/grease gun rag, some rags get rotated down the line and end up in their final destiny as an oil pan rag. I added a new one today, the Rain-X for plastic shields rag, all shields rags are new and at the top of the chain, 2 stay wet and one for dry with no wax, then there is the wax as you dry rags...oh boy !

Microfiber rags are only used for cleaning. That's as far as it gets with me.

I've done exactly what you're doing.

At some point, too many cloths laying around on each container becomes a fire hazard.  Some of that stuff is flammable. (and my bike sheds can get up to a hundred degrees plus).

I keep my bike windshield cloths separate, in the bike bags.

I keep washing my microfiber cloths, and have two piles; the pretty good, and the pretty bad.

Yes, at some point they become all oil rags, before becoming trash.

If I'm cleaning/polishing the bike and/or windshield, I always grab some new micofiber. Don't have any used specifically with Rain-X, can't use that on most plastic windshields anyway so don't use Rain-X. I have a box I keep used rags in, plus a couple boxes of paper towels. For general use, I'll buy a plastic bag of plain old "rags" that have been commercially washed then cut up into smaller pieces. They're usually quite soft but I don't use them on the bikes and since they're real cheap per bag, I often toss them after a few uses.

I'm not that organized and my workbench shows it.  Roll Eyes

Yes, I've heard of that form of RainX, an aquaintance of mine didn't listen to me and used the original. Got mad when it ruined the windshield on his ride, I just smiled and walked away. On mine, I used warm water to get the surface grime off then use Plexus. It coats the plastic enough so water runs off.

That new Rain-X is great on your sunglasses and helmet face shield too. My helmet has the flip down sun shield. As far as the rags I have all my old towels to work with, when I'm low on towels I purchase more and retire the oldest ones.

commented on it a while ago.
Used it on the Inzane trip and it works pretty well. Really well the day it is applied!
