Have any of you thought about spending their holiday in Norway?
It would be an honor and pleasure to show you our spectacular scenery.

It is reported that a certain fjord cruise tourist - was it the US astronaut John Glenn or was it Neil Armstrong? - later was shipped to the moon. He looked toward our sunlit and blue planet surrounded by blackened space.
As he stood there, he was asked by eager ones from Houston, Texas: "Have you ever seen anything more breath-taking?"
"Only the elps and fjords of the Sunnmore district of Norway."

Beautiful photo Dag, I wish I had more vacation time, there is so much stuff to see in Europe.  Norway is definitely on my list.  I also can't wait to cross the Millau Bridge in France on a Valkyrie (and of course eat at Jean's restaurant)!

Has anyone shipped a motorcycle to Europe before?  How much does it cost?  How long does it take?

I have shipped four bikes to Norway.
My Bumblebee from NY in 2005 and another Bumblebee and a VTX 1800 from Dallas and a Wing from Miami.
The shipping from Miami to Oslo is less than $ 700,00 and the time is about three weeks.

I was in Europe in 2001 for a couple of weeks.  Made stops in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany.  My next trip my wife and I would like to go through Sweden, Finland and Norway.  This picture is from somewhere in Norway and is my desktop backround.  Dag, do you happen to know where this is?

Here's an interesting idea - Watch for a good deal on a really nice Valk, buy it & ship it to Norway (or someplace in Europe), Fly over, spend 2 or 3 weeks touring, then sell it there.  What would be the legalities/paperwork/taxes for a vacation like this?  Do Valkyries bring more or less $ over there?
(Probably would be simpler to just rent a BMW)

You have to pay about 21000 to 25000 USD for a used Valkyrie in Norway.
The price in US is about 6000 + Freight: 700 + Norwegian Tax about 10000 = about 17000 USD
Sell it for 22000. The profit cover all expenses you have with your holiday   cooldude

Dag I want to make sure I read this correctly.

Valkyrie cost 6,000.00 USD
Norwegian tax 10,000.00 USD

The tax is almost 2 x the purchase price?
