If anyone is looking to have performance work done on their Valkyrie, Bob Smith, aka The Attic Rat, is hands down who I would recommend. I was lucky enough to get one of these beautiful beast that we all love and let’s face it, the guy I got mine from had not taken care of it very well. She was strong or at least I thought she was, but now, it is amazing at the torque. He totally went through my carburetors and I’m not talking about taking them apart and spray cleaning them with carb cleaner; he has an ultrasonic cleaner that deep cleans each part. No one knows these Valkyries like he does from top to bottom, inside and out. He ports and polishes the heads and intake system, milled the heads then fly cut the pistons for better compression, modifies the airbox to evenly disperse the air across the intake equally, and desmogs the clutter of unnecessary vacuum lines the likes thereof,  and it all works together to make acceleration so crisp and smooth when you twist the throttle. I can now pass effortlessly going up a mountain two up and loaded down. No need to drop down a gear to get that extra thrust, it’s there when it’s called upon in any gear above 2500rpm. I can’t say enough about the power, though Bob likes to site that it gets great fuel mileage too since everything is in sync together, and it does, but damn at the torque, that’s what I like to talk about.
I also want to brag about the attention to detail. So many small things are done along the way. Things being cleaned, and polished, wires and hoses routed the way they were intended, the correct bolts being installed where someone may have changed them but you didn’t know any better. He is a great communicator as well. You get a play by play almost on a daily basis of what was found, recommendations for repair, and just general updates sometimes with video chat so you can see what is going on with the money you are spending.

I not only walked away with my Valkyrie running better than it did the day it came off the showroom floor, I walked away with a friend that I hope to have from now on. Bob and his wife Debby are the kind of people you can’t help but like. So if you are looking for some top notch performance work at a fair price, The Attic Rat is, without a doubt, the best.

I'm saving up to have Attic Rat work on my Valk, I have read nothing but great things about this man and his work.

Couldn't agree more with DeShazo comments. I am fortunate to live just a few miles from Bob and I had put it on my list of someone I had to meet. I was experiencing a fork seal problem last year and decided the time had come. While he was working on the forks I inquired about his performance work. I was lucky he had the time to do the work, he stays very busy. Frankly, the best mod I've had done on my bike. Performance wise it is not the same bike. The bike was never slow but now, wow! My mileage has been about the same, but I goose it a lot more than I used to. Good guy, great mechanic. Forget the chrome, get this work done. You won't regret it.

Bob's a class act for sure. But he's also booked up for about 2-3 months, that was by his own admission. If you're wanting work done for over the winter months, I'd suggest getting with him asap.

Bob (a.k.a.Attic Rat) Is now doing his Performance Package (among other things) to my 1999 Yellow/ Cream.

Although I have not ridden it yet- I can confirm that Bob is "The Man" for doing performance work on our Phat Lady.   He has stayed in touch with me almost dailey and has sent me pix of the project as it has progressed.

Bob is a great guy and has a wealth of knowledge about the Valkyrie.

He has also hooked me up with a painter in Tulsa that is painting a Black Interstate gas tank to factory paint - so I think I will have the ONLY Yellow/Cram IS Tank in the country...lol.

Needless to say I cant wait to ride it when he finishes..

I will post again when it is completed with an update and a review   .   .   .

Bob is the best testament to these Valks that i know of.

Had him do the performance work to my 98 Standard and everything that has been said about his work is SPOT ON!!

The distance to me made no difference 7 hours one way
Best 7 hour travel money can buy for these bikes!
Now I have another awesome friend in my life.

If anyone wants the best performance out of their Valk?????   Give Bob a call.
Your time and efforts will be the best choice ever made.

Second gear and the tire breaks lose or the front comes up   coolsmiley coolsmiley

Makes those Harley Riders give another look.  At the backside of my bike that is!!   Grin Grin

I've posted on this topic several times. Bob rocks. I hauled my valk from San Diego to Tulsa so he could work his magic. More power, better fuel mileage. Made me want to keep this bike forever. I actually have a dyno session planned this week to compare my mark t exhaust to some vikings that I scored. I will post up the results. Several of my H-D buddies are very interested after one of them pulled 110 hp on the very same dyno and I walk him when we run them.
I figured I should start a new thread..... check this out....http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,90305.0.html
