My wife and I were out a few weeks ago and ran across a couple that looked real similar; riding a Heritage, wearing flip-flops, shorts, wife beater shirts, puttering along in the left lane of a local 4 lane divided highway. She kept trying to scooch forward, but can't since there's only so much room on that seat. No backrest, no helmets, no shoes, no sense. And in no hurry.

He wouldn't speed up, so we tried to pass on the right / then vrooom he goes; he sped up until he was ahead of both of us and then slowed down again until he was right off my left wing. Did that twice. Since we were going to turn left fairly soon, I tucked back in behind and putted too. He made it through the light before we could, made a 180 before the next block, making like he should have turned right instead of left / like he was lost.

A couple miles down the road, at another traffic light, lo and behold, here they come blasting by us on the right shoulder and slows right down again, putting along at about 10 miles under the limit like he's king of the pack. We turned right another few miles down the road and we fully expected to see him blasting past us again.

You've made an astute observation, Momz
