There are plug & play LED lights that you can use without any mods.

Yep.  Took me some looking to find what I was after but I do like the result.

After having my trunk demolished in a rear end collision, I was pretty bummed at losing my BonS tail lights.  I found some that are equally bright, and flash five times when I brake.  They are attention getters! I also replaced the smaller mini trunk bulbs with LEDs.

I also have the (Tourer) fender tail light on the Interstate that flashes on braking. The whole bike is now LED with the exception of the dash lights.

Any chance you can point me in the right direction for these (that flash 5 times when braking)?

Went by a bike/auto accident yesterday and I'm going on the war path to maximize my visibility - fore and aft!

Thanks,

Terry

If I remember the larger bulbs twisted in and the smaller ones were the wedge type. After seeing below post they were all plug in wedge. Mine look very similar to those, so 7440 it is for the larger size. Found them on eBay, verify the size and and enter "LED flashing brake light".  Pull out your bulbs first to make sure what they are, it's easy.

Wish I'd written down all that info and wish I'd had the lights when the kid hit me -- although I'm pretty sure it may have not mattered.  I'm pretty sure he was literally asleep.   Angry

I installed these on my Valk and ST1300.
They blink 3x, then go solid.
Each time you release and reapply the brake switch, they blink again.
Good to alert oncoming traffic when you are stopped.
Downright RUDE at night, IMO.
They only fit the outboard lamps in the IS trunk, but work great.

I had a unit that was similar to this, but a different brand. I have a Tourer brake light, and the trunk lights converted to run, tail, turns. I really liked the flashing stop. But it kept giving me intermittent problems and I ended up pulling it out. I keep meaning to get another.

Searched around on fleaBay, these are the exact flashing brake bulbs I'm using in the Interstate trunk.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/23-LED-Red-Strobe-Flashing-Blinking-Lamp-for-Honda-Accord-Civic-Brake-Tail-Light-/233725996525?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292

They flash 4x and stay on.  Very bright.

I did the conversion to the 48/25 LED Clusters from Radiantz. The difference in the lights is night and day.
I had planned on doing this on an exchange plan, but haven't come up with additional light sets to start.

I found one set off ebay and bought it, I didn't want to screw up my original set of lights, just in case  Grin. If anyone has any extra set of IS taillights for sale, let me know.
